>Offer gentleman a drink

And there's definitely something under the floor, but it'd be impolite to tear it up without the gentleman's consent.

There's also gotta be something in the barrel. Or under the barrel.

That is NOT a gentleman! He has no monocle! There is something under his hat. [/paranoia]

If adventure guy is anything like Indiana Jones, then he's technically petty bourgeoisie himself.

*Adventure Guy must be prepared to run the hell out of the just in case Gentlemen is a sicko killer with dead bodies in his cellar*

Ask gentlemen if he has any supplies to help you on your adventure, or is willing to trade for items.
Ask gentlemen what is he looking around for, maybe you can help
Ask gentlemen if you can look in his cellar.

Ask if he needs any help himself, and apologize for asking so many questions but explain that you are very unfamiliar with the area and you are here for "country".

Attempt to get catch gentlemen within a lie, so you can discover more truths about this individual.

I was thinking more along the lines of this legendary champion, all clad in dented and dinged up steel plate, his blood-drenched axe slung over his back, a notch in the handle for every enemy that saw the swing of that blade as the last sight they ever saw, a battered shield strapped over his arm... and a fluffy, pink stuffed hippo hidden discretely in his breastplate.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

You ask the gentleman a number of questions.

Quote
Remark about the fascinating inconsistencies of local construction and the poor quality of that one floorboard. "I say, it does look most hazardous!"

He agrees. He says this cabin used to be in much better shape.

Quote
Offer gentleman a drink

He politely declines. He is not thirsty.

Quote
politely ask the "gentleman" if he would mind us searching this place for clues as to where we are.

He says go ahead.

Quote
Ask the Gentleman for clues on what mountain this is.

He says he's hardly a geology professor.

Quote
Ask Gentleman how he did end up on this mountain.

He has always been on this mountain.

Quote
Ask Gentleman if he knows anything about the complex we came from.

Some people used to live there. They are gone now.

Quote
Ask Gentleman if he knows something about P.A.Les

He says he met Les once.

Quote
Ask gentlemen if he has any supplies to help you on your adventure, or is willing to trade for items.

He doesn't have anything on him.

Quote
Ask gentlemen what is he looking around for, maybe you can help

He would be quite pleased to acquire a monocle.

Quote
Ask gentlemen if you can look in his cellar.

He says go ahead, it's not his cellar.

Quote
Ask if he needs any help himself, and apologize for asking so many questions but explained that you are very unfamiliar with the area and you are her for "country".

He says he does not require your help at this time.

Quote
Attempt to get catch gentlemen within a lie, so you can discover more truths about this individual.

The gentleman is responding as shortly and tidily to your lines of inquiry as possible, but doesn't appear to have been lying at all (as best you can tell).

The gentleman leaves.

I have absolutely no idea what's going on in this fort any more. Migrants arrive, they die for some reason, the fort is flooded for another reason, then dwarves go mad, more dwarves die and I'm just laughing in my distress.

It ain't, though. See here:

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Next session will probably be tonight (currently very early morning).

e- Or maybe not. I'm trying to fix a broken puzzle that spans several rooms, and it's taking a lot more time than I'd like. If not tonight, tomorrow, though.
