She will come and make it clear. I am just worried about her health, as she seems to take frequent doses of rage, and that can hardly be good for one's health.
Other than the occasional violent psychotic episode, there's no ill effects. ;)

I wonder if anybody could associate a particular piece of music with watching their parents get pissed out of their mind? Maybe we could award an A* English GCSE for whoever can!

Bullshit English coursework. My brain ceases to work.

E: In fact, I prepared this very special image for my presentation.

So I go to play BC2 tonight with some friends.

"Cannot connect. Please retry."

x1000.

Come to hear from a friend that EA is going to require everyone with BC2 to register themselves on EA.com to continue playing, basically having them re-register so they can all get added to Origin.

That was pissing me off.

What's made me FUCKING RAGE is the fact that when I went and registered Bad Company 2 on EA.com, with an account I already had.....I made the stupid fucking mistake of trying to re-enter my new information to log into BC2, which is a different email address than the one the game was registered with.

And that's when I crossed the line into hell.

I couldn't register my Steam copy of BC2 with my new email address, because the serial was attached to an old email addy. The old email addy had no corresponding EA account that I could remember, and even if it did, any password recovery shit would be sent to an email address I could never get to, because I closed it a long time ago.

So I figure in the end, maybe it was just a network bug and I should re-log with my old BC2 account email address....

AND IT DOESNT ACCEPT MY PASSWORD!

FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU

After 5 or so attempts it tells me the account has had too many incorrect login attempts. And says nothing else. No solutions. No directions. Just "Fuck you, go buy another copy." So after making it impossible for me to play, EA conveniently "forgets" my PW credentials that I know are right, and locks my account for trying?

So now I've been sitting in chat with EA support for going on 40 minutes now, so one of their top level admins can change which email my BC2 account is registered to, and hopefully it will let me play my goddamn game again. That is IF my chat connection doesn't magically terminate and I have to reapply through Level 1 Customer Service again. If that doesn't happen, at the rate I'm going, I'll get to talk to a rep in maybe 2 hours.

Reminder: what started this BS fiasco? Me changing email addresses at some point, EA for having absolutely no sane fucking recourse for managing a CD-key license they make you have (I was told directly by CS that customers do not have the privilege of changing which email account their game is registered to) , and them arbitrarily deciding to make me jump through some more fucking hoops to drum up accounts for Origin. FUCK.

Dear parents,
The money I spent on getting locks on all my doors was to keep people out. If someone is in my room, they either came in along with me, or they were you two. At least, that was the idea I had when I gave you guys the only spare key and told you not to let people in my room. My brand new, $230 desk that I spent the weekend building is in ruins. There are empty beer cans everywhere, and the new carpet I put in is stained and terrible looking. The room reeks of tobacco, and there are stains of some nature on the walls. I totally agree with you guys that my older brother should get to 'have a look around'. That's why I specifically named him as someone who was never allowed in my room ever. Teaches me to try and make life nice for myself, like I've been told to by the therapist you pay for. Teaches me to get out of the house for a weekend, like you constantly bitch at me about.

Huh, I should probably reply to this.

Yeah, it was bad fanfiction--not even pornographic in the least!  I've learned my lesson.  Again.  Those are pretty standard plots.

I said present-day setting in that it was not set in some future setting, where we have a gender-fluid society and the implications of guys randomly walking into a girl's bathroom to tail a Hot Chik are different.

By baked, I meant that the character in question had literally baked everyone else cupcakes.

On the other hand, I have now read a fanfic in which the "lovers" don't get together in the least, due to irreconcilable differences in age and personality, and despite attraction on both sides; it was treated bittersweetly and with a good deal of charm.  I may have to reconsider my self-imposed ban.

Or not, because the stuff I read in order to find that was utter tripe, and the time would have been better spent reading Powers or The World According to Garp.  Yeah, pretty much.

So it turns out the Level 2 CS rep I got was pretty straight with me.

Because when he asked me my DOB I registered on the account, it wasn't my DOB. Which was strange because I don't normally falsify on game accounts I give a shit about it. He could have told me to piss off right there, but instead he asked me what my SPORE cd key was (because EA never forgets) and since I have the box right here, I was able to verify. (Hurray, SPORE turns out to be good for something!)

But then there's the downside. Because I registered a second account with EA under the email I now use, my email I wanted was "already in use." And there's no way they could merge my two accounts.

So I had to go create a crap email account to register my old EA account to, rather than the one I wanted. So now Spore, Battlefield 2, Bad Company 2 and Bad Company 2: Vietnam are now registered to an account name that I'm bound to forget. But at least I can play.

What's the moral of this story? Game accounts are bullshit and short of a credit card, your email address is what matters. If you ever have to CHANGE your email address, especially because of security reasons, DO NOT PRE-EMPTIVELY REGISTER THE NEW ONE EVERYWHERE, because it will cause situations where it's easier for them to have you make a new account then try to delete a redundant account or merge the two together. It's often easier to alter contact information on accounts that need to be updated. Had I remembered what some totally unused EA account's PW was from bygone days ago, I wouldn't have had this issue. But EA's long memory and restrictive account system, in the end, is the reason I still get to play BC2 right now, even if it's also the reason I had problems in the first goddamn place.

The other moral is that not all CS people are the devil. Some choice quotes:

Me: I appreciate you digging to help me.
CS: No problem at all. I am a gamer myself, so I feel for ya. :P

Me: Man, these accounts are so confusing.
CS: Yes they are. Welcome to my world. :P

That said, I just spent 2 hours to get a game that was working perfectly to play again thanks to EA, and now I have no motivation to play it or anything else right now. ><

I think the wireless receiver built into my laptop was damaged on the way to or from Sydney for the weekend; Internet keeps dropping in and out (on two separate networks, so I know it's not the router) whilst claiming it's connected all the time. FFFUUUU-it dropped out sometime as I read this page, so now I have to wait for it to decide to play nice again.

This sums up my feelings. The only fan-fic I've ever read and liked was this bizarre reworking of Barney that made him to be evil incarnate and had elements of Logan's Run in it.
