I came in right before the end, but the first thing I heard was "Footballplayer x was right, when he said women should rather be in the kitchen, than on a football-field".
"Well the only good thing is, when they show a header in slow-motion, the player isn't the only thing that's bouncing..."
"Oh, if at least the players were pretty. Just look at how ugly most of them are."
And more inflammatory speech followed.

Sadly, every discussion I heard on womens football up until now, was basically like this.

I am not even really sure what I was expecting. I feel more puzzlement than rage, as I really do not understand how someone could think that way. Because all of my closest friends are female, I have a very difficult time understanding why anyone would hate women.

Holy Cow I am staying away from romance fan-fiction just because of how depressingly rage inducing sad it is.

This sums up my feelings. The only fan-fic I've ever read and liked was this bizarre reworking of Barney that made him to be evil incarnate and had elements of Logan's Run in it.

Ahhhhh..

Fanfiction is 99% bad, 0.001% good. The other percentage is just okay stuff.

And yes, I feel the same.
It's a lot easier for me to connect with women, than with men.
Sadly my surroundings (at least the ones I interacted with) during the last 8 years been inhabited mostly by men, which proved to be quite alienating.

At least I know that the situation will be reversed at the university. I should finally be able to form some meaningful friendships there.
