That's a lot of work (it's all pixelart), for little improvement.
Ironhand has 18x18 if you want a bit larger.

I've been thinking about including a cooking mod in the graphic pack.
The mod has no side-effect, does not break compatibility with old save, and is fully reversible without negative consequences.

It disables the cooking of alcohol & seeds (old prepared meals with those components are still valid, functionals and their values is not affected.)
It also reduces the values of quarry bush leaves and dwarven syrup by 5 times, to balance 5 items being created per plant (the value of old prepared meals are automatically updated.)

A side benefit of the mod is that the Kitchen screen is no longer cluttered by pages of seeds and alcohols.

Sounds good to me. I'm always paranoid that I may have allowed all of my seeds to be cooked and that I'll starve. I don't think it would affect me very much due to the fact that I don't export food. Would cooks no longer use alcohol as an ingredient with cooking or is it just to prevent "liquid" meals of nothing but alcohol? I don't think that bother me too much once you get a good food industry going. I always end up with way too much food anyway and you can never have too much booze. Using more food and less booze is a good thing in my book.

I like that.  I, for one, hate seeing dwarves munching on Minced Ale and Sunberry seeds.

I mean, the Ale part I already have, but after using my own version of a mod just like this for so long, more people must see how nice it feels to not have psychofoods like Dwarven Wine Buscuits.

It completely disables alcohol from being used for cooking.
Syrups can still be cooked as long as there's one solid ingredient in the 'recipe'.
And you'll still have to manage rock nuts. Being nuts, they are still edible raw & edibled cooked, and can still be ground into paste.

Pastes and press cakes can still be cooked.
Both rock nut paste and rock nut press cakes are listed as 'Rock nut' together near the bottom of the Cooking page.

Hmm. When I use a graphic set, I honestly don't really wish for it to include modifications beyond the graphics. As an option, sure - but I like my kitchen menu as it is.

It would be great as an optional download possibility, otherwise it would be more than a graphics pack and I see a couple problems arising from that.

Go ahead and make your cooking mod, but please keep it as a seperate download from the graphics. I still cook most of my seeds as training for my chef/s.

graphics /= cooking

there are alot of cool mods out there, but i somehow want to stick to vanilla df for my sanitys sake ;D
