The problem with irrigation was that I sucked at planning so all my dwarves were at the point of hunting vermin by the time I thought to set up farms.

Oh yes, swimming. Well, maybe it'll help if I recruit from towns near the coast? :V

After spending 2 weeks in the underground w/o water nor food I was pretty sure my adventurer will die. I've found, however, a section of cave that had the walls smoothed. Walls were still random tho and the corridors were 4+ levels high. Then I had checked the upper-left corner. I was under the dwarven fortress! Badass dwarves smoothed the walls but forgot to build stairs. It was still ok to (T)ravel tho, even on the 20+ level of the underground. I've been walking through 4 map tiles. This is awesome.

Still have to check if the walls are smoothed right to the Fun level.

ED: being mortally wounded TWICE, learning how to swim while fighting waves of cave crocodiles and getting an infection was totally worth it.

I'm currently trying to discover if there's more than one mysterious Slade construction in the world.

Not having much luck.

IIRC, there should be one under every mountain tile

I've gone underground now, so I'll start reporting on anything I find. I'll probably just keep editing this post. I'll throw the Bestiary info in a spoiler.

So, I tediously awaited the arrival of the dwarven caravan (I'm set up on a island, see)... And, they came. My fingers tingled, my nose twitched and my toes tickled... they came around the corner, over my bridge... Into my courtyard... Onto my trade depot...

Then everything near it exploded in a cloud of blood.

A note: If your adventure begins in a temperate/cold climate, you can get water from non-water tiles by collecting snow. Awesome. I'm not sure if this has been the case for a while, or what.

Thanks Mythos.

Hishan, to my knowledge, only a few people have been down that deep.

I may return to the first eerie pit I visited and show the stairs that continued further down.

I finally found some blood men to add. Took a while of searching.

I've been travelling the underground for quite a while now.  I've run into some unbelievable dead-ends that require huge backtracking.  I've found only two "you've found a passage downwards" or whatever.  Swam across one underground lake.  Seemed gigantic.

I found a Curious Structure that spans at least 100 z-levels, reaching all the way from the 2nd cave tier through and past the glowing pits (there doesn't seem to be an exit at pit level)

One of my elf adventurers is trying to make it past the legions of hell to the bottom now...

I found my second curious structure in the same world. So, there is indeed more than one.

I found part of a dwarven fort while running through hell. I am able to travel while in the fort, but I'm going to explore the pits a bit more, and then return to the surface as a hero with an Adamantine sword. =D
