Ok , time for my debut question:
Can you teach dwarves skills? If so, how, as I have a possessed dwarf and no-one can build the workshop she needs.
Cheers!

Just enable the labor for the dwarf. They'll build the workshop with no problems.

Press 'v'.  Move the cursor to a dwarf.  Press 'p', then 'l', to bring up that dwarf's labor menu.  You can now enable or disable labors on that dwarf.  He'll start at Dabbling, but that's enough to build a workshop.

Second question:
How? Sorry, I have no clue.

On the effective scale, where does a bone fall for spears? My bonecarver just crafted a legendary bone spear. Too bad it's from a mule.

If the regular tileset is too small for your taste, replace it with a different one.

EDIT: How do I change the truetype font the game uses?

I get that I need to replace it with a different one. My question is how?

Download the tileset you want to use, place it in the data/art folder, and replace "curses_???x???.png" with the filename of the one you downloaded.

I'm thinking about turning off temperature in the init file for a speed boost.

Fort is in a warm area, so nothing ever freezes or evaporates, and I'm not using magma yet,
so I'm guessing I won't lose anything, right?

I'm melting some goblin junk and making weapons in regular furnaces, but that has nothing to
do with temperature I think.

With temperature on, I have 40 FPS, when it's off, it's 140.

Switching off temperature doesn't actually seem to stop magma furnaces from working.  You would thing it should, but apparently the ability of a magma furnace to work has nothing to do with temperature, but rather is simply magically dependent on the presence of magma under the furnace.

Bone weapons are rather ineffective, but it should be at least slightly deadly.
To get a better use out of it, put it in a weapon trap in a room you want to spruce up.

Sorry for not being clear :/

No. Only dodging, armor and shield skills, if I recall correctly.

While flooding by mining is done slowly, tediously and by accident, flooding by dwarven engineering is done with great speed, endless vigor and also by accident.

Last time I checked, as long as you equip them a pick via the military screen, they'll train with it, as they use it to block some of the spear-traps, increasing their "weapon" skill with the pick. Legendary in three dwarf-days. A few minutes real time.
