You need to have a trader with some appraise skill. It probably has to be above (no adjective).

ah ok, thanks.

You need at least "dabbling".

Are creatures that have tasted dwarven blood still unable to be completely tamed?  I've captured a named Jabberer, and I'd like to not tame it and then have it run around eating my dwarves

Nope, it'll try to eat your dudes like a wild one. And your dwarves won't even fight back.

So the dwarf Jeniffer just went nuts and needs Sand (green glass) and all I have around me is clay and stone.  Can i just dig a few holes and get sand or do I have to drain a lake?

Any other quick options to obtaining sand?

If you don't have sand squares on the visible map, the only way to get it is to import it or bring it on embark. Fortunately, sand is super cheap. It's worth less than the bags it's carried in.

On the download page on the website, there are two downloadable options, [SDL] [Lagacy]. What's the difference between them?

Anyone know a way to get dwarves to clean of excessive amounts of blood? I don't want my electrum bridges to be covered in layers of Ago Fatmalice's goblin blood.

Water will push blood up against walls instead, but I don't think there's a way to get rid of it entirely.

sometimes building a floor on it will work.
...for that one tile. then they walk over the other tile with the pool of it, and spread it to 5 more tiles, and now you're 4 tiles worse off than before.

This isn't really a "real" question but what should I do now?
http://mkv25.net/dfma/map-9244-duskmountain
This is my fortress.

Should I just sit and wait for some attacks. I had Goblins on the Embark screen, but I haven't seen any.
And I've dug down to level 100, and I found no Magma yet.

This is my first successful fortress so any tips would be nice.

I'm trying to train my Marksdwarfs, How do I do that?
I only get (Cannot follow orders) :/
