So, um... not to cause any... commotion... or anything... but

I don't know, that seems... intriguing.
Excellent work, Toady... Though I hope you can undo some of the bugs soon.

I'm curious what the barely conscious ai wrote about.
Well that went better than expected.  He went nuts and punched a rabbit to death, then the dogs and the whole dining hall ripped him to shreds.

Still this is great news! Huzzah!

The combat descriptions definitely make adventure mode 100X more fun. I died by having a pike stabbed into my mouth, and subsequently twisted.

Yes, it's been there for forever.  The game had more magical stuff way back before the first release.

Love it! One of my dwarves swears he's doing "Individual Drills" but it looks like he's just sitting in the barracks with a barrel of ale...

Somehow, that fills me more with dread than anticipation.  It's like being told that someone's exhuming your favorite grandparent and they're going to try to make her into a cyborg stripper.

I did notice that I had to convert my font over to .bmp format first - I had thought that we could use PNG in the past, but I guess that's not in the high priority list for now.

But yeah, I'm running with the Moon font. in NON-graphics mode. :) And it seems to work fine.

I'm a bit dissapointed with hydras(haven't found any other megabeasts yet). My brand-new adventurer, had never fought anything else, punched one to death, and didn't even get hit. Before: accomplished dodger. After: legendary +15 fighter/wrestler. Punching kills things SLOW.

Also, I struck the finishing slow with the hydra's own tooth. I wonder if I can make this thing an artifact...

Edit: What the... I was exploring the caverns and found a bunch of leather + a stack of 5 prepared meals. It appears another adventurer failed to kill the colossus I was after. Best part is, that stuff wasn't there when I got here. It only showed up on the way out.

DF 0.31.01

One small step for games. One giant leap for Gamers.

This was released on the first day of my holidays! I couldnt post a reply yesterday because the website wouldnt load, bandwith issues i guess. The new website is excellent. looks more professional.

I found a repeatable way to crash the game (diddnt know if this has been mentioned before). I launched the game and turned down the volume. I accidently hit enter and it started generating a world. I hit enter to stop and "a" to abort. I went to "Design new world with parameters" and selected a large island. Sometime during this process (once happened when forming land, and every other when simulating time for civilisations) it crashes with some visual c error or something, which i cannot see propery.

Works if i dont abort though so... yeah. No more socialising with people for the next 3 months.
