relax, you won't miss anything. I can't exactly run a session when no one is online.

My apologies for forgetting this as well, as I was bogged down by both helping someone drywall a room, and my own RTD.

It's fine.

however, as much as I'd like to DM a crazy buddy-cop adventure with Jorn the straight-laced priest and Raith the loose-cannon warrior, we should probably postpone resuming the sessions until the other players have more spare time.

Heh, it's tempting to draw a cartoon about that.

How about we have active sessions during active session times, and passive sessions in which you wait for everyone to post (and until you yourself have time) before posting results? It would move along the thread.

splendid idea!

BEGIN PASSIVE SESSION

The Party descends the final staircase into the castle basement. Reaching the bottom steps, they enter a dimly lit dungeon. The room is filled with the noise of machinery and the heat of furnaces.

At the far end of the room lies a wall of forges. On the left wall there hangs a rack of metalsmithing tools. The right wall is affixed with three pairs of chained manacles, likely used to detain prisoners.

Facing the forges on the far wall there stands a very large and burly man in a blacksmith's apron. The grinding of his machines have prevented him from noticing you. To the left of this man there sits a small pedastal containing levers and switches.

I'm here!

Dwargza examines the tools, and grumbles inarticulately about shoddy human metalwork.

Próthaa walks over towards the levers.
"What exactly do all these levers do?" she asks the blacksmith. "I mean, what could so many levers be for?"

Raith looks over at Próthaa, then rolls his eyes "If you have never seen than many lever in your life, then clearly you've never been inside a Dwarven Fortress. I still don't know how I survived that." The goblin looked over to the metal worker. "Where do your loyalties lie, blacksmith? To the baron, or the people?"

"Ho! Blacksmith, do you posses a key perchance?"

The blacksmith, startled by your interruption, turns to face you dramatically.
"what would you need a key for?! You're not even permitted to be down here!"
He scowls at you and procures a hammer from behind his lever console.

His face is pale, likely from lack of sunlight, and he has a grey beard stained black with soot. Judging by his stature and proportions, he would appear to have some dwarven blood in his ancestry.

Dwargza examines the tools, and grumbles inarticulately about shoddy human metalwork.

Dwarzga makes for the wall of tools, but is stopped in her tracks by the blacksmith.

"Stand away from there, lass! No one but me can touch those tools."

It would appear that this man is able to tell dwarven females from their male counterparts. How uncommon.

"What exactly do all these levers do?"

"that's for me to know and you to stop asking questions about. If I were you I'd be leaving now, If'n you please."

"Where do your loyalties lie, blacksmith? To the baron, or the people?"

"My skills go to the highest bidder, goblin. And Unless you think you can pay more than the Duke, I'm gonnna have to ask you to - hmm, now that I think about it, my pockets have been a little lighter as of late..."

"That's not too surprising' Said Raith, working that goblin cunning "The Duke has been pinching everyone's pockets these days. the merchants, the priests, heck I half expected you to be chained to the forge when I saw you."

Dwargza puffs up, and in a rare episode of racial pride, points to the Smith and declares

"Half-breed...pah! His blood is so mixed, he holds no loyalty to anyone. A Dwarves hand for craftsmanship, but a Humans desire to cheapen the cost for mass production-leads to these abominations!" She finishes, gesturing to his work

"Now, If your truly as mercenary as you claim to be, then you won't mind changing paymasters, will you? The Duke is out-you can't defeat all of us, AND the Gaurd, AND the priesthood AND the entire village risen up against you. Oh yeah, we got friends. And when this is all over, we're gonna remember who played ball, ya understand? Give us the key and get back to work on that bucket, or baby cradle or whatever the Hells your making there."

"That was Dwargza, ladies and gentlemen. Let's give her a big round of applause" Raith said is a bombastic voice, followed by sarcastic clapping.
