I'm fine with the dentist, mostly. Of course, I have a good dentist. And he's been my dentist my whole life. I still have a couple little problems with the dentist, but nothing anywhere near serious and the first two really only apply to the nurses (I don't know about other dentists, but mine has like five nurses that do most of the pre-checkup cleaning and shit before he comes in for about five minutes. Speeds things up while allowing him to have multiple patients, I guess).
The worst part is the electric toothbrush. In case some of you have something different, I'll describe it. It's like a toothbrush, but replace the head with a rapidly rotating cylinder of some material like firm rubber or something (I've never examined it closely, to be honest). It just feels really damn weird on my teeth. Sometimes I get really nervous just thinking about the feeling, but then it ends up being a tenth as bad as I expect it.
Oh, and the flossing. They're rough as fuck with that. I'd rather they watch me as I flossed and told me how to do it right, because then I wouldn't end up with what seems like a mouthful of blood.
Also, new to the last time I went (like two weeks ago), the dentist scraped his sharp hook thing between my bottom front teeth really hard, which hurt for a second but wasn't that bad.
But all these are minor problems, really, and don't last less than fifteen minutes after the semiannual checkup, so it's all really not bad.
