I am punished for the weekend. Grades came in today.

See, even though right now I am pulling a fucking 4.1 GPA, and have the highest average I've had in my life, I got an 87 in one class

Wow.

...So how's that whole "moving out" thing going? They aren't still contemplating following you to whatever college you go to, right? They can't be that stupidly controlling. I hope.

Oh good, you're already doing that.

And if they follow you to college,  you have the law on your side.   They are not allowed to interfere in your college education except when you are physically incapable, I think is the state of the law currently.  Look it up, though.  What is it, FERPA???

She was talking about hearing her parents talk about moving with her when she goes to college. As far as I know she isn't free yet.

Oh, my bad, I thought she was moving out.  Or planning to at least.  But AFAIK, at least in the US,  they CAN'T follow her to college, at least to the extent that they can probably move there but they are powerless to interfere.

I am just very, very confused right now.

I left out a lot of details and things went... better than expected. If the answer was going to be no, this has been a pretty good way for it to be no. Better than I thought was possible. (Two years ago something similar ended rather badly and that's sort of affected me since)

So really, it's not entirely a sad, but this post wouldn't feel right anywhere else

...Now I'm really curious. >.>
Oh well, whatever happened you aren't an emotional wreck, so that's the main thing.

Caroline currently lives in Honduras, unless I'm mistaken. Could very well be planning to go to college in the US though, in which case that statement would apply.

This isn't really sad unless you think about it, which I'm trying not to do:

YouTube ads, particularly that annoying stupid poorly-executed attempt at guilt-tripping by A&W, please stop. Stop popping up. I'm not going to not skip you and you're interrupting the thing I'm using to distract myself from my mental state.

Incidentally, you might actually have a better chance at a full scholarship if you are Ivy League-level of a candidate but go to a slightly lower school. Plus, essays.

I highly recommend the Youtube Center plugin in conjunction with a Chromium-based browser. Might have to download it from their own website instead of the Google Store, but it does good work. AdBlock may also do the job, I'm not sure. Just make sure you're not grabbing AdBlock Plus, which is comparatively garbage.

Youtube is one of very few sites whose ads I can't bring myself to tolerate (Cracked and The Escapist being the other two ones that come to mind, for what it's worth). They're a blight on the service. Though, if I could figure out how to allow the banner ones that pop up silently after such and such seconds, I would be on board with permitting those ones.

“What are you doing?”, asked Minsky. “I am training a randomly wired neural net to play Tic-Tac-Toe” Sussman replied. “Why is the net wired randomly?”, asked Minsky. “I do not want it to have any preconceptions of how to play”, Sussman said.
Minsky then shut his eyes. “Why do you close your eyes?”, Sussman asked his teacher.
“So that the room will be empty.”
At that moment, Sussman was enlightened.

I haven't been on an actual computer in years. All I have is safari and the YouTube app.

I got really fucking lazy. And the house I'm in now has no good sitting spots to sit in and go on a computer. No comfy chairs and such or anything, just couches and beds and really high bar-style chairs. Much easier to lay in bed and idly browse through the Internet on a phone rather than sit uncomfortably in a chair. It has the side effect of somewhat trapping me in my room (I haven't spoken a word out loud at all today, or left my room at all, or eaten anything), but that's also probably the probable depression so it's not quite as much a factor of my phone.

...he knows gay marriage is totally legal in Canada right? And the conservative cock prime minister that was starting to curdle into a racist got replaced by another dude.
...
Actually on second thought don't tell him any of that.
