You're better than she thinks, [Caroline]

Study the notion of judgement. Sometimes, people judge just to what they see--sometimes, people see a lot more than what just you do, broaching the philosophical aspect of humanity.
But your mother is...troubled, in that case. Probably venting her expectations or otherwise in a very...crude and negative way.
It is a common note in the aspect of sadness, that browsing over and over the memory of [negativity] is a constant. So don't internalize it as if you're focusing on the negative--nobody was born to live a demeaning life or be judged as if they are only what judgment can entail.
And my words are messy.
Later she said she was sorry for the words she used, [and then negative stuff happened].
Focus on the thingy above here. She said sorry!
The later part is her worries, and sometimes it must be taken in a way that isn't against one party or another--but in a way that just says 'this is how I feel', sans the 'AND ITS YOUR FAULT' part.
Take it like she's venting, in the least.
...And take the homophobic part not as if ITS HER FAULT, but the existence of fault within the attitude in the society there--social stigma, as the social construct.
...I should totally try to upload that documentary I made on that kind of discrimination (on homosexuality) someday ._.
Stigma within division within...well. The thing is commonly, subtle.
and no one else
Also...I think that elephant is breathing? I dunno, but the next picture...
