Well, maybe I'm biased because nowadays the "cool" members just seem mildly annoyed by the existence of the new members and think we're idiots.
._.
I think you're generalizing there a bit.
In part, on what is being referred to, and in part on...err, all that bunch there.

I too miss the golden days. When penguinofhonor spread the word of our lord grisha5, and all who listened rejoiced. When penguinofhonor ran the food thread, full of tasty things posted by great people. When penguinofhonor ran for moderator, showing willingness to accept responsibility and help this forum in its time of need. I miss those days when we were all united behind penguinofhonor. It was only then that I truly felt safe.
You mean last night, in your dreams? :P

Well.
You can also be KING RADICAAAAAAAL.
King Radical be rad, yo.
Is he RadMan?

No.
And yet he must suffer the horror of drinking that disgusting diluted water mixture they call mountain dew.
In rad land, even but a drop of the mystical dew from the mountain dew would be enough to fuel his radness.

Yeah, he's a banned spammer. Normally we'd delete this thread too, but people were having too much fun with it by the time we got here.

Because there are people in positions of power who say these things are wrong. But that doesn't make those wrong. It's just societal pressure, as Tiruin said, and society, like individuals, is fallible.

Well, maybe I'm biased because nowadays the "cool" members just seem mildly annoyed by the existence of the new members and think we're idiots.
Obj, I think you've been here longer than you realize. Almost 3 years, in fact.

Dunno about you but I would move to Radical Land in a picosecond, and sign up as a cyberknight.  Preferably under Ron Wizard.  Preferably "under".

Yeah but there's not much of an influx of posters. Like, I signed up around the same time as Objective and also am newer than most of the people who regularly post in GD.

This will seem quite harsh to those without context, but...

Are you still saying things you think will provoke a reaction? If so, seriously, stop.

My only reaction was confusion at Objective thinking they're a newbie.  Registered almost 3 years ago!

The majority of the forums has actually registered before 2012 and has less than 3 posts. So uh. Yeah.
