So basically, you're a drug he knew he should have said no to, but you're just so good he couldn't resists and just can't stop?
Are you must be wrecking this poor guy with your addictive nature?
Well, there is research that relationship-seeking hits some of the same neuroreceptors as crack and heroin.

Descan: Like heroin, but sexier.

Mhm... Problem with me is that I tend to throw myself fully into things, and I don't really know how to strike a balance between 0% and 100%. :/

Word.  Never learned "the rules" myself either.  Just brought it up with the girl I had dinner with a couple weeks ago, and she basically said she was feeling a bit strangled by my staying in touch.  I'm welcome to come over again, but not every week.

I heartily enjoy it as well.  Apparently, I also have a remarkably high tolerance for it.

Oh to the Well, homes.

On the bright side, this means I don't have to focus so much on her/be exclusive!  On the downside, I don't have anyone else to focus on/not be exclusive with.

My hot adjunct's contract has finished. I'll be stuck as the underling as a likely less-hot, less sympathethic adjunct for the next ten days :(

Heh, I get the feeling that I'd be very good at the "old married couple" stage of a relationship, because when it comes to romance I'm incredibly passive, but at the same time comfortable with just about any level of intimacy. Which of course is highly unfortunate in a society so thoroughly ingrained with the notion that men absolutely have to be the aggressive relationship-starters. I'd probably have been at least slightly better off as a woman, at least in that respect. So there's some sad for the day.

Here we go again.  :(

EDIT: Elementary school, btw. So we're talking young kids. Fuuuuuuuuuck.

I just can't fathom why someone would do this. I know the shooter was probably crazy, so reason had nothing to do with it, but...

Who the hell goes and shoots up a bunch of elementary school kids?

I don't want to sound insensitive, but wasn't there another shooting earlier in the week or something? I hope some anomaly hasn't instigated some kind of trend towards homicidal rampages.

Lots of people in the world, man. Violent crime per capita has been in steady decline. There's just more people total, thus more nutbags total.
