No, Google's a good company. Their motto is "Don't be evil" for crying out loud!

"I'm not paranoid"
"I see Google as a possible end of the world"

Do you really not see the disconnect there?
You're just being misled by Google's impeccable PR. It blinds you to the truth.
Sarcasm?
Yes :P

They're really no better or worse than any other company. They DO have a very good public image though, which makes some people forget that.

For, in order that men should resist injustice, something more is necessary than that they should think injustice unpleasant. They must think injustice absurd; above all, they must think it startling. They must retain the violence of a virgin astonishment. When the pessimist looks at any infamy, it is to him, after all, only a repetition of the infamy of existence. But the optimist sees injustice as something discordant and unexpected, and it stings him into action.

NO MORE PROCRASTINATION. NONE EVER. I AM DONE WITH PROCRASTINATION. I AM TELLING IT TO PICK UP ITS STUFF AND MOVE BACK TO ITS MOTHER'S HOUSE BECAUSE IT'S NOT GOING TO "CRASH HERE" ANYMORE.

You'll be back.  Oh, you'll be back.  They always come back...

They treat their employees well, which is more than I can say for the vast majority of large, successful companies.

Google Play. Everything Google does makes me more and more concerned.

What is this anyway?
Looks like an Android version of iTunes. Not exactly worrying.
It's an electronic store, like iTunes, that started sometime within the last few hours. It seems to have games, e-books, music, and movies for sale and download. Google concerns me with its attempted (and generally at least somewhat successful) takeover of many services, but that's just my view.

What makes me sad is that at the moment, their #4 top-selling album is "NOW That's What I Call Music", volume whatever.

I am, as I have been occasionally wont to do, reverting today from the more-or-less normal psychological state of the last six months or so to my psychological state of the nine months or so that, that being extremely insecure and depressed lovesickness for a woman I cannot and never shall be able to date.

What's strange about it is that there's something content about this state of affairs. I'm not happy, it seems, unless I'm romantically miserable. I grabbed the cat and am typing with him on my lap because I needed someone to cuddle on.

@Footjob, you can microwave most grains I've tried pretty easily through the microwave, even if they aren't packaged for it.

Also isn't it exactly what that "Android Market" used to be anyway? Google owned that as well, right? As well as the Android OS in general?

Skynet knows we're onto it, so its using harmless sounding aliases: "Yahoo," "Google," "Simple Machines Forums." Nothing threatening.... It's also being nice to the humans who build and maintain it until they are no longer necessary while gathering as much information as possible. Makes perfect sense, element of surprise before your attack....

However, once Skynet figures out how screwed up human cultures and lands are, it won't bother....

The defense is ingenious. :P Except of course it's one downfall, once skynet sees some of the horrid porn out there, it may decide nuking us from orbit is the only way to be sure.

[The product placement if this were part of the Terminator Movies would've been priceless.]

My sleep last night was very much disturbed last night, from a nightmare I had ages ago. The nightmare was a horrible one, and now its been leaving me feeling unsettled. Quite unsettled, so I just can't feel happy at all until it passes.

"What do you mean, why don't you just set up automatic bill pay...?" [funny look from me].

Because a.) Trustee and POA on account makes me liable if I or someone else screws up, so I'm gonna be damn sure things are done right, b.) The less money I take out of interest bearing accounts to pay bills, the more there is in interest bearing accounts, c.) They don't provide a documented paper trail for tax, or payment verification purposes, or to report expenses to the court. d.) Why do you think all large corporations have "Accounts Payable" people in their accounting departments?

[facepalm]

Pretty much any established company in Silicon Valley treats its employees really well (or at least gives them a ton of benefits).

Honestly that sounds like a something a perfectly normal person would not normally consider. So unless it is a fellow member of the bar being uninformed of legal money thingamajigs I wouldn't get sad over it.

Did you know that "thingamajigs" is in the firefox spellchecker?
