I'm suddenly remembering last year's events again in vivid detail, probably due to the date, and they're making me unhappy.

I'd like advice on some distractions.

I'd like advice on some distractions.
Go to Wikipedia/TvTropes, and hit Random Page untill you find somthing interesting. Then, click on every other interesting link you see. You'll be lost in hours of material in no time.

Sorry, but I'm looking for something more specific.  Not a "timewaster," but something energizing.  Thanks, though =)

Are you sure that's the name of the virus and not a generic description of it?

If your virus scanner has already found it, then

It's probably just a generic description.

The whole description of the thing is  Win32Hacktool.Patcher.C. The virus scanner says that it may be a dangerous file, not that it's infected.

If you can find a suspicious process in task manager, that's likely it.
Works especially well with AV-type virii, because you have an open application you can use to jump to the process.

I like tragedies best.  Romance is okay as long as the girls are really cute and interesting.  Epic is good as long as it's actually, you know, epic.
