Reading Vector's progress and work ethic made me sad, because it made me realise just how much of a lazy ass I am. I've done and seen so shockingly little, and I'm even a little angry at myself because of it.

I must work harder.

Same here. I'm quite miffed at my lack of work ethic overall.

In the days when Sussman was a novice, Minsky once came to him as he sat hacking at the PDP-6.
“What are you doing?”, asked Minsky. “I am training a randomly wired neural net to play Tic-Tac-Toe” Sussman replied. “Why is the net wired randomly?”, asked Minsky. “I do not want it to have any preconceptions of how to play”, Sussman said.
Minsky then shut his eyes. “Why do you close your eyes?”, Sussman asked his teacher.
“So that the room will be empty.”
At that moment, Sussman was enlightened.

My grades are good but I don't really care about that.  I feel constrained and impatient during class.

Unless learning by heart's involved I'm actually pretty good.

Unfortunately it's precisely that what made me fail last year xP

Lost count, but I got somewhere between 15 and 20 push-ups and around 25 sit-ups.
Horrible.
Goal: by the end of the month, 50 push-ups and 100 sit-ups.

It's okay Ein I've been doing the same thing every other day since at least the end of January and I still can only do 30 push-ups and sit-ups tops.  I do notice a difference since I started at least.

When I was taking martial arts classes at age 8, I could do 50 of those push-ups where you clap when you go up.

I can probably do fifty, sixty sit-ups and maybe a dozen push-ups in my untrained state.

Right now I'm trying to get out and jog more with my time, because I need the sun and the exercise.

I wanted to do martial arts again (started when I was 6ish, don't remember that well), but all the teachers here are incompetent, and I'm not going to travel for an hour just for good classes. It really helped me get into shape when I traveled back for a few weeks though, where I can get proper training.

Twenty push ups max. Damn arms are useless, all my muscles are in my legs and head.

Sadly, because I suck at upper body strength, I can do but a mere 15 push-ups. That's 15 more than I could do in January, though, so I guess it's a start.
