Most of keyboard is flat, if not stained and gritty.  The block from Q to D is polished to a mirror sheen, and nearly unpainted.

I signed a number of papers for volunteering. One of them, if taken at face words, the waiver, seems tosay that I cannot sue the organization for any reason at all, even those unrelated to the volunteering.  From now evermore!

Aren't those "you can't sue me" deals laughingly easy to get around? I had the idea that they simply exist to evade frivolous lawsuits, or they're void if the company endangers or discriminates in some way.

I actually think it's one of the spirit vs letter of the law issues, where in this case the intent was to make it only for volunteer-related lawsuits, not lawsuits like 'this organization where I volunteered once violated my rights of sunlight' or such.

This was a week or two ago, but I finally raged out on my dad about how he was supposed to help me by spending an additional half hour Roto-tilling a patch of garden out a few weeks previous (after he had the Roto-tiller running already) so I could cultivate it, but he didn't so I'd have to work in his garden again without seeing any of the profits again. I stormed away when he did his standard tactic of 'turn my back and begin ignoring my only and firstborn son and slowly shamble away.' I first considered planting feed corn in his garden so his sweet corn crop would be ruined due to cross-pollination but simple petty revenge would gain me nothing. I didn't and pounded some stakes in our yard so I could put up fence to keep his various domesticated fowl out of my new garden. If you've ever pounded fence by hand you'll know what I mean when I say it takes some effort and I utilized that barbaric rage I was feeling to the utmost and got it done in record time and violence to said fence posts and post pounding tool.  I next went to find appropriate fencing. I found a heavy roll of fence which I carted with a ridiculously inadequate and only available cart. Halfway on it's journey to it's destination the wire roll fell out when I had to go uphill without me noticing until I had arrived at my destination; likely due to the poor axle condition of said only available homemade cart made and 'maintained' due to the often ridiculous but inarguably effective thrift of the person I was mad at. This further enhanced my rage and, risking my guts spraying out into my immediate vicinity and dieing a violent herniatic death, I lifted with my legs and hips and hauled that big fucking roll of heavy steel the remaining distance by hand burning with internal, focused rage while I rested and rebalanced the wire roll on my carefully thrusted hips step by step in order to put the weight upon my legs instead of my arms.

I went inside for tools at some point, and yelled at my dad's inflexible and oftentimes willfully ignorant person and he conceded me control of the unplanted remainder of his well fertilized patch of under utilized garden without realizing he was underestimating me once again. I immediately abandoned the fence posts I had pounded down amazingly fast in that unmeasured time of unrelenting rage.

But yeah, my righteous anger only resulted in a single threat to make me homeless in his attempt to deflect the conversation, which resulted in more righteous anger and an excellent result for myself due to my turning the argument back to my lack of garden (which caused him to speak in anger and spite without considering the repercussions and tell me I can have the rest of his already fertilized garden instead of the bunch of sand I would have ended up with if he had listened the first time, because he underestimated my resolve on the matter for the second time) and eventually this resulted in a rare apology from him a few hours later

Now I have my own patch of land after 25 years of him not giving me any motivation and wondering why and hating to me, my family, and random strangers we've just met that I dare to have a hobby that doesn't involve slaying small animals as his and my sister's hobbies all seem to involve, as that is the only appropriate thing apparently for a hobby, and instead mine is 'playing so many damn useless video games' which he seems to confuse or equate with 'being on the computer all the damn time' because computers have never done anything useful ever other than being able to see if it will rain today or maybe to send emails with.

Now I'll have to sell my produce on my own instead of throwing my rows of corn in with his and expecting compensation which I've tried before to my chagrin due to it being 'farm money' at that point because the guy is so unorganized about record keeping that he can't tell me roughly how much a row of corn is worth when each plant produces 1-2 ears.

Next year maybe he'll take some time from the multiple hours he spends daily milking my sister's unprofitable goats and taking care of her various more profitable fowl while she stays at the college town apartment he helps her pay for.([they celebrated breaking even last year with, relatively, high profitability crops + limited profitability fowl+ unprofitable goats and it's those goats dragging them down with all those 50$ hay bales they consume weekly; the goats she decided she would invest in at age 11 due to the advice of her autistic best friend; against my constant advice to sell the damn smelly screeching things the products of which they won't turn into something they can store like cheese like I told them they should do instead of feeding the milk to the dogs for god's sake] the so-called profits of which go to 'the farm' which is a joint venture between her and my Dad because she would go bankrupt by herself, this I of course am totally excluded from; to the point where they are afraid to let me dig them an irrigation system to tap the aquifer with a pump because it means I helped. Thus I play video games because I've already had to get into a shouting match to convince my dad simply to allow ME to dig for free (as I could utilize it as well [pun] in the future) by shovel the irrigation/duck/fish pond that he's wanted for as long as I've been able to form sentient thought but does nothing because he's soooo busy doing other things. That small pond I dug last summer and it now sits empty while my dad can't seemingly do anything but get angry and walk away to hide from me so he can smoke the tobacco that killed my mother and is killing him and gave me benign ear cancer from childhood or young adult second hand smoke (hopefully smoking outside like I've pressed upon him is necessary to prevent my rebellion against him yet he still fails to do occasionally as putting on a pair of pants before a smoke so he can go outside is apparently too damn much sometimes in the early morning when he wakes up); he walks slowly away with his shoulders all tense in what I can effectively call the Old Man Who Knows He's Wrong But Wants To Argue But Can't Because He's Been Proven Wrong Yet Is Still Inflexible Shamble, he does this when I ask him to spend 15 minutes planning with me so I can ask him his opinion or advice how I should spend my readily available man-hours of work to develop his land for him for free)

Finally the applicable to this thread and where I wanted to start at earlier: Today I weeded all the accursed milkweed in my garden and it felt good. Tomorrow I'll move the only sprinkler (only one hose-run sprinkler and it runs off the house's water pump due to our lack of an irrigation system) to my patch of my dad's garden which now belongs to me that he's been avoiding when he moves the sprinkler about his section, so he can't gloat if my corn and jalapenos were to die. When he ain't here, I'm afraid my patch has priority.

I wonder if they will break even this year with the loss of those rows of corn he would otherwise use to prop up her goats? They've somehow managed to work out some kind of milk-share deal with some people who pay about 6$ per gallon of the goat's milk, speaking of which I find the randomness in quality due to the way goats work disgusting personally. They say 'You must have tried it when we weren't doing it right' or 'The mother goat's milk is gross for a few weeks after they give birth and you tried that' and honestly, they are probably right and sometimes it's not so bad but still, I can go to the store and for 2$ buy a gallon of cow's milk that I can pretty much guarantee won't make me cringe when I taste it or risk making my coffee taste bad. Maybe if they sell the remaining shares the goats will be something less than a gaping financial wound seeping our lifeblood. If not then maybe it will drive through their thick skulls that it's time to reduce the herd instead of increasing it year after unprofitable year.

Now if you went through all the spoilers I apologize the minor grammar errors I know are there, because I've already spent enough time on the details so people I don't know on the internet don't try to convince me that I'm wrong and that my family are of course right which ends up with me working for them as a sort of modern slave like a good son or playing video games all day like a bad son. Goodness knows my family both immediate and extended have been of that opinion itself while my male cousins (except one who I am proud of due to the fact he will be a wonderful architect and all the more power to him for working towards escaping the family grasp if you will though it isn't as bad for them so I doubt they'd see it that way) all are employed by other family (but not me despite my dad working there too during a large portion of my adulthood! I suppose they can't carry everyone with but it would have been nice if they could have tried especially since it was a computer type job running spectrographs. I fixed and maintained the personal laptop he used for work when it crapped up due to spywares etc.)

Today was a good day (mainly being that I'm allowed to go home after 1:30pm after my class subjects), and listening to MMZ's musics are rejuvenating. Also, the fact that my mom has finally got a very good job as a VP in a futures market firm is making me very happy.

Prepping to give a Shadowrun campaign the old college try. I'm rolling a scrawny elf hacker/pilot who fancies himself king of the virtual universe. Going to have him living off the grid, with mad computer infiltration skills, a few homemade AI gun/scouting drones, and the ability to jack into systems wirelessly WITH HIS MIND. I'm thinking he's going to live and work out of a modified utility van with a cow-catcher on it too, subsisting off of shitty microwaved food. He is going to be the best elf.

First cyberpunk tabletop I've tried, and I'm really looking forward to it.
