Today has been a good day. Started out hurrying through my morning chores, late as always, before I went to see my therapist(ish). I was a bit worried there would be no free parking spots in the small lot next to the house, as otherwise I'd have to either park in the main lot on the other side of the hospital complex, or a lot near a park a good 5-10 minute walk away (which on the other hand is free, but I was already a few minutes late), or steal a spot from on of the a bit closer lots dedicated to other hospital buildings/branches/whatever, which I know is a really assy thing to do since they're crowded enough to to begin with.
Anyways, onwards to the good parts about it; when I arrive there's just one spot left, perfectly sized for the car, which I can take. Just a few seconds after me, coming from the other direction, is another car looking for a place as well. I was a little relieved.
So, when I'm done with the meeting, I manage to remember I need to buy new medicine
before I'm out of town (for once), and drive over to the main lot where the apothecary is. All the free places are obviously taken, so I park at the pay-spots closer to the drugstore. While I'm sitting in my car contemplating whether I really should pay for an hour of parking when I might just be in there a few minutes, or go in there without paying and risk being stuck for 30-40 minutes if there's a lot of people waiting already (I realise now that I could just have gone in, taken a waiting ticket, and then gone back outside to pay if there was many other customers there, but I didn't think of it then). Anyway, while I'm sitting there thinking about it, a man walks up to the car and asks me if I'm going to be there a long time, then gives me his parking ticket, which still has a lot of time left. Thankfully, because I probably would've let my cheapness get the better of me and I was inside the apothecary for about twenty minutes.
Moreover, it turns out I was just 1 Swedish krona (0,16 US dollars) from my "high cost protection" kicking in, so that's was all I had to pay for the medicine. Isn't socialism grand? Then, to top the day off, somebody parks just next to me the moment I get back to my car, so I have a moment to pay forward the favour from earlier by giving the ticket (that still had an hour left) to that woman. Hopefully making her day better as well.
All in all, it was a very good day. I hardly felt tired at all when I got home, like I usually do after therapy. And now, as I finish this post, the sun is breaking through the rain clouds to warm my feet. I guess this became a rather lengthy post, mayhaps, but I had a lot of happies inside me today.
I've been doing the "In My Pants" meme for years, but with song titles instead of movie titles. There is a larger base to work with.
The Soundless Dawn Came Alive as Cities Began to Mark the Horizon ... In My Pants.
Trouble is a Friend In My Pants.
..This Is England in My Pants?
Career Opportunity in My Pants?
London's Burning in My Pants?
Julie's Been Working for the Drug Squad in My Pants?
Ivan Meets G.I. Joe in My pants?
AAH THERE'S TOO MANY.
And quite obvious what I was listening to when I read your post.
