Today I feel happy to play DF. So happy.
I never gave any one fortress a lot of time...I would find something I disliked and I would abandon the place. I have never been sieged, etc., ever.
A few days ago I made a place. I quite like it. I decided to make my first pump stack earlier this morning, and I was lucky to find a really close reservoir of water. There was a Cave Crocodile in there, and I have never seen one before and did not know what it could do. Later on, I got a message that it broke down some door. So far I have lost two brave souls to it, and I fear that I will soon lose more.
I plan to reclaim this place in a little bit...But for now, I am happy. After 2 months of play I feel like I have been initiated into the game.
