And the new DF version is awesome.  My world seemed to run for thousands and thousands of years, and is still in the Age of Myth.  I may need to go on a megabeast destroying quest.

I spent a good chunk of yesterday trying out the new version. It is...intense. I feel like I've gone from Master back to Novice, but I'm quickly getting a grip on things.

And I've already started modding it...

I'm having a gladiator contest in the object testing arena.

Whoever wins will then go against a series of increasingly powerful monsters.  I've got them kitted out Thracian style, with a bronze shield, bronze helmet, bronze short sword, and bronze greaves.  I'll probably give them loincloths too, I guess.  Don't want their peepees touching mid-fight or something awkward.  This is gonna be intense.

Wandering around in adventurer mode in the new version, found a human city on the coast, full of people who worship a God named Epo.

This isn't unusual, but he was a God of water, and the temple had a swimming pool on the bottom level where the priests went to a have a ritualistic splash around. How many times in the old version did the location of the city effect the spheres of the god they worshiped?

Oh, and while I was there, one of them drowned in the ritual pool.

Self-sacrifice?

EDIT: Oh my, everything about this nation is sea-related. Building names, the title of the head priests (Sacred Beach), this is awesome.

Anyway, Gladiator contest didn't go as planned.  My brother came in and started watching, he wanted me to fight a giant cave spider, I didn't want the guy to die so early, so instead we used a minotaur with an iron battleaxe.  It chopped off both his arms and buried the axe in his chest.  That was fast.

Had a look in legends mode at Epo. There were two, one a forgotten beast, the other a Human Goddess.

Forgotten beast:

Epo was a forgotten beast. It was the only one of it's kind. A huge scaly shrimp. It had mandibles and it has a bloated body. Beware it's noxious secretions! Epo was associated with water, theft and caverns.

Human Goddess:

Epo was a a deity that occurs in the myths of The Intense Kingdom. Epo was most often depicted as a human and was associated with water.

As of now, they are the same being in my mind.
