If they are less than twice the cost of other comparable troops, that extra wound will be a valuable trait on guys with good guns.
It means that the extra points you spend o n the upgrades is not lost as quickly under fire. You get half the guns (guys), but they last twice as long.

Are they more than twice the price?

It helps also to have upgradable units when you are trying to build a pure-clan army.
Aren't there rules anymore about ork clans?

Not really, but they fit in well with my Bad Moonz.

There are going to be fuzzy dice on my Vehicles.

They are 3x price if you get all upgrades IIRC. Yes, 2 wounds is good, I agree. The fact is they get weaker, usually worse, and mostly less shots than Lootas.

No rules on Clanz.

I might be able to lower their price in my regular gaming group, as we are using the second edition rules...

Revised...
This is why house rules like this are bad

And a 4+ save.

They can also gain both a FNP save and a 5+Invulnerable for just 35 points.

Also, a couple mins, it should be charged enough.

Not really...

5 Gitz means 5+ Inv for 25, +30 for Painboy

And then you also want upgrades...

What happens if you set two armies against eachother, one solely composed of Gitz and the other lootaz?

Varying the cover availability conditions.

Ah, 5+ per MODEL.

Right...

Also, someone test that in the Vassal engine.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Some of the photos, it may be hard to see. Sorry,

The green block is the green stuffed Gitfinda, and the wire is going to be going to a power-pack made from the Little power-pack on the Boyz Rokkit launcha sprue.

They need the lenses. And there will be spmething different for each Nob.

Oh, and it's MUCH sharper in person, the extra greenstuff that makes it look Wobbly and Un-striaght is for attatching to the model.

it looks better than it does there -.-

this is really the first proper Green-stuff thing i've done.

Early stages still. :)
Any ideas on how you are going to build the lens itself?
A small piece of tubing?
A small blob (less than 1mm d) of GS may also work: jab it with a wetted paperclip untill it is almost flush with the base of the ocular enhancer, creating a small donut of putty. you could gently tap it with a flat tool to make it look less a donut and more a ring.

Not quite sure, but seriously, it looks much better in person.

Any critique?

Qritique? Not really. He might have trouble turning his head with the wires tangled on his horns, but for an individual ork it doesn't matter much. :) Variation is more important that ergonomics in conversions.

You could also use the tip of a retracted BIC ballpoint (or similar shaped object) to impress a lens into the gitfinder-block itself.
This would bypass the fiddly small bit of GS process and still look pretty sweet.
edit: duh. too big by far!

(I am imagining the GF as an actual optical device, not a heads-up projector.)

ps: If you find your putty is moving too much when you try to create sharp edges, you can wait for it to harden some. OR build the part up in layers, first creating the bulk of it and then the smooth finish + edges. :)
pps:
Today i tried the pva glue technique for creating bolts and nubs, it is pretty sweet. Once you get the hang of it. dab tiny amounts of pva with a not too pointy tool. these can be built up. maybe adding a bit of paint to the glue is a good idea as it dries transparent.

Oh, the wire isnt even NEARLY done, it's likely wired directly to the gun, as there's no ther good place to stick the power-pack.

And the greenstuff is fine, it's perfect really, it's just that it looks Non-straight in the picture.

Well, seven hours ago, Cthulhu, Magma Militia, and Akigagak went online, and I joined just to see if I could make the program worked.  I wound up the fourth man in a 1000vs1000 pickup game, and then Militia left leaving me to run one side against Cthulhu and Akigagak.

Incredibly long story short, it was the most epic, in the very literal sense of the work, game I've ever seen.

Akigagak will be along soon with logs and 146 pictures.

EDIT: Log saved, holy crap.
