I agree it looks fine, just looks like a place where the shifty GS can occur.
Advice in advance really, rather than criticism. :)

Ah! the wire is flexible? It looked like metal wire in the pic, so I assumed this was it's final position, with the PSU on the pauldron.

Really going to try to sleep now. Had to return to correct the ballpoint idea.
Happy modding! I'll be looking forward to your progress.

edit: As well as that battlereport! Does it deserve it's own thread?

It is metal wire, but jewelry wire.

Perfect for this sort of project.

Hmm I'm somewhat interested in throwing my hat into the ring here, though I probably won't have much time to play until another two weeks when finals start and end. It appears I have the main rule book though I'm not sure what edition it is but I don't have any other book either.

I put together a couple of armies, both terrible, I'm sure. If I can manage to be on at the right time I'd want to play a game, though I doubt I will be. D:

I'm curious, what exactly is it that renders deldar so outdated they're "impossible to play"? They don't seem meaningfully worse than normal loldar.

Look again.  For instance, their basic troops have rapid-fire, strength 3 guns compared to the sword + strength 4 pistols of the worst Eldar troops, at 8 points instead of 6.  Power creep all over the place, and a lot of units didn't work all that well to begin with, if the historians are to be believed.  Among other problems, their only transport options are AV10 skimmers, so against any opponent with three or more brain cells they're going to be walking most of the game.  Essentially, they're forced to play like Orks, but they're more expensive and not as tough.

Er... Probably should have said "what changed to make them worse"... But yeah, they do seem weaker for the cost, and they don't actually get a meaningful bonus to their mobility. As far as I can tell, anyways...

What changed is power creep; shit is just plain stronger than it used to be. I remember back when i started playing 40k in, oh second edition i think, you were doing real well if you were hitting and wounding on 4's.

Now it's not uncommon to be hitting on 2s or 3s and wounding on the same.



Dark Eldar were never that good to begin with; they were like Eldar, but even more extreme, and extremely difficult to play. They had a couple of neat tricks, like the Raider Squad Flat-Out trick that allowed you to dump some fairly serious firepower basically anywhere on the board, but their tricks were always limited enough that a decent player could build an anti-DE army that would trounce them 9 times out of 10 (the 10th time he'd roll all 6's and blow up all your dudes on the first turn.)

Yer sorry for pulling out by brother was being a dick, anyway I'm online again and have most of the day to myself. I also have two 500pt and one 1000pt Eldar army that I'm happy with.

I had this awesome idea for the Tau the other day. Since they draw some inspiration from the Humongous Mecha of Japanese anime and TV.

The Tau have a distinct lack of Titan level units; they have something that amounts to just a large transport vessel  bristling with guns, but not a walker, despite the backbone of their army consisting of walkers.

Thus; I would introduce a series of sub-titan size battlesuits designed to fit into a particular niche, which while quite powerful on their own, are not independently capable of going toe to toe with, say, and Imperator Class Titan. I'd call these battlesuits X0-RD battlesuits

they would have to work together in order to handle such a foe. They would do this by modifying their overall shape, and locking together to form a so called 'Mega X0-RD' battlesuit.

What do I need to play this? 5th edition rulebook and 5th edition IG codex?

Oh, and how complex are the rules? Compared to, say, 3.5 D&D?
