I'm interested in beginning to play but have no idea where to start.

Workerdrone, Org, other, less fanatical players, advise me. Please?

Do you want a competising(spelling) army or a fun one?

Human or aliens?

Quantity or Quality?

Going from what I learned from Dawn of War, I think I'd quite like Ultramarines. I'm more of a tactical person than a sea of green one, despite sucking at tactics. And since I'm just starting, fun, not competition.

I will say one thing first. Ultramarines?

Space Marines cost less money for an army. Get Assault on Black Reach. You get termies, which are nice. battleforce too. Rhino, scouts, tacs, assault marines, and a combat squad, and with those two boxes, you have around 1000 points already. Then you might want a Land Raider(Crusader or Redeemer, crusader is pretty good although the redeemer can be better). Sicarius(spelling?) is pretty good UM Special Character. Whatever you want.

Nope, sorry, Ultramarines are Overused.

Use Orkz, Da Boyz is Da best. Dey Gots Shitty armur, but Dey has Sluggaz and Choppaz, dem's good tek, day Mekz did a gud job wiv da Veehiculs, too.

seriously, all the n00bs get Space marines, they don't need tactics, because they are tough as nails, you want tactics? get some eldar. they are basically Space-elves.

Yeah. If you want to not be a total nubcake, get Tyranids, Eldar, or Orks.

Once tried to conquer Earth, and succeeded! Too bad it got really, really boring, really, really fast.

One day, we shall all look back on this, and laugh. Sorry about the face, by the way, and the legs, and the eyes, and the arms. In fact, sorry 'bout the whole body.

Like I said, I'm new, I know nothing. Eldar don't really interest me, Orks do. Tyranids and Chaos don't.

Tyranids are good for beginners, they're rules mean they can literally PEG IT towards the enemy, they friggen RESPAWN, and they have some cool shit.

Eldars have a lot of nice tech, too bad they look like pussies.

Oh, and Da Boyz? they are goooooooood, lotsa special rules, and also a Converter's dream.

I thought Tau were the nubcake race.

See, it really sucks they removed the space dwarves.  Would have been easy to choose otherwise.
