Very well, LETS DO THIS!!!!
Katsuun:
You keep your shotgun up and slide over the counter without it dropping from the ready position. Nothing moves however and you make your way over to the bags near the end of the shop. Turns out that there is 3 backpacks, all full of who knows what. You put the shotgun on the ground beside you after taking a look around you to check for movement and you begin to search the bags.
There must have been a group of people carrying these bags you deduce as you find that most of them are full of food. Enough for 10 days for one at least. Probably more, you can't carry it all. But thats not all thats in the bags, you find a swiss army knife in one which you pocket, a penlight which you switch on to see better, 12 shotgun shells which you pocket and some bullets that upon closer inspection on the bottom appear to be a mix of 9mm bullets and .45 bullets. You are about to count the bullets when...
Webadict:
You both decide, after a small amount of talking and planning, that you should try to talk to whoever is inside the shop. They should hopefully be nice people, since you are all humans and zombies don't use guns. The plan is simple, Matt will yell inside for a respone from the street with you backing him up with your gun in case they attack.
"Just don't miss." Matt tells you.
"I'll try not to, but don't expect any acts of god any time soon."
Matt walks out into the open slowly and when he gets within about 3 meters of the window he shouts through it.
"Hello! Anyone in there?"
You both hear scuffling and a curse then silence. Matt gives you a look and yells again.
"We don't want to hurt you, please, is anyone in there?"
Silence again. After a minute of waiting, you both hear a voice yell back.
"Who's there?"
You both sigh in relief and Matt starts talking again.
"Ok, just stay calm, I only want to talk with you. I'm a police officer, you can trust me."
"You can't trust anyone you don't know, so introduce yourself."
"Ok, my name is Matt, I'm a police officer as I told you before, I just want to help."
"Well Matt, if you're a police officer, throw your badge in through the window to prove it."
Matt looks at you for reassurance. You shrug and nod. He complies with the demand and throws his badge in. Silence and then...
"Are you alone?"
"No, I have a friend with me. She's ok though, she won't hurt you."
"Alright then... You can come in, but no sudden moves or it's going to be the last thing you do!"
Matt looks at you again and mouths the words, cover me from outside, before going in slowly with his hands up. You move closer and look through the window at an angle from 4 meters away. You still can't see anything other than Matt.
Matt talks with the person inside for a bit before shouting out to you.
"It's ok, you can come in, he won't hurt you."
You let out a breath you didn't know you were holding and head inside. It's dark and your eyes take a bit to adjust to the light. To your horror, you see that the store is pretty much wrecked and blood is all over the place. Theres even blood on the lightbulb, giving the place a tint of dark red and keeping most of the light from shining over the room. You can finally see the stranger though. He appears to be a bit of a computer guy judging from his posture and look. A rugged computer guy. With a shotgun.
You introduce yourself to each other as Matt picks up his badge. The stranger is called Hikari. He just recently came across this place, and so far seems to be a decent kind of guy.
"So, got any idea's for tommorow?" You ask.
"Not really, I'm just making it up as I go. How about you?"
"I met Matt today actually, he was looking for stuff for some people that are staying in the police station. He still needs to find some food for them though."
"Really? It's your lucky day then, there is lots of food back there, I can't carry it all, so you may as well take some." Hikari says while pointing to the back of the store. You look and just make out some bags leaning against the wall.
"There's also some bullets I can't use in there, 9mm and .45 judging from the bottoms of them."
"Bullets and food? Great!" Matt says as he hurries to check it out. You and Hikari walk to join him, chatting casually while avoiding the corpses of the casual zombie.
"So you were shooting just now?"
"Yep, I found this on the counter and 4 zombies in the shelves. Shot 3 and stabbed the last, so we should be fine for now."
You both join Matt and help in counting the bullets. There is a grand total of 50 9mm bullets and 30 .45 bullets. A nice find. Matt recognises the shotgun model as well, he calls it a Winchester M12, it should hold about 6 shots in the magazine, plus 1 in the chamber. Hikari shuks the shotgun a couple of times until all the shells are emptied from the shotgun, revealing that there was 2 shots left. You all share out the food amongst the three packs and each shoulder one. Matt takes the 9mm ammo and reloads his pistol with 15 bullets, as well as a spare clip he pulls out of his pocket.
"This will be very welcome at the police station. Would you like to come? We always need a helping hand."
Hikari pauses to think it over. You take the time to check out the window and see that the sun is still slowly going down. If you're gonna get to the police station before dark, you better get going real soon.
Shoruke:
"There's nothing for it. We have to go outside. Come on." You say to the scared man.
Before you leave, you take out a wine bottle, open it, take a swig and hand it to the man for him to do the same. He does so quickly and hands it back after you take out a rag. You stuff the rag into the bottle forcibly and take out the match box after handing the bottle back to the man. You open the box and find only 5 matches. Better make 'em count...
You light the first and grab the bottle quickly. The rag lights easily enough and keeps burning as you shove the box back into your pocket. You flick the burning match away and leave the hotel. The street is empty and the buildings are now becoming shadows as you realise that the sun is setting. Talk about one thing after another...
"Do you know anywhere we might find decent shelter?" You demand of the man. It's a bit harsh, but the only way to get a decent answer from him right now.
The man ums and ers for a bit before his face lights up and he replies:
"Yes, the firestation should be nearby. It's near the zoo, so we should be able to find it easily enough. There also should be another hotel around here, but I want to get far away from here as fast as I can."
"I agree with you there. How far is the firestation?"
"Not far, just a few blocks from here I guess. The hotel was originally built to be near the zoo."
"Then the firestation it is! Lets go before we get attention from something."
You both hurry down the street according to the man's memory and cross a few blocks without incident. The streetlights are starting to flicker into life and by their light, you can see that the firestation has a small tower that sticks up above most buildings around here. Must be a radio tower you think. You head towards it quickly, molotov drawn back to throw at a moments notice. You are almost there when you hear something that doesn't sound good. A slithering.
You tell the man to get behind you and to keep his eyes open so you can have a chance at seeing whatever it is that's approaching. You are in the middle of a grassy clearing and the sounds are starting to unnerve you as you are exposed without cover.
"There! To your left!" the man shouts while pointing.
You don't think, you throw instead. The molotov soars through the air and shatters against a rock coming up from the ground. Fire sprays out for an area and you can see what's making the slithering.
Snakes. Lots of snakes. It seems that they have escaped from the zoo somehow, and they are currently all heading straight towards you, avoiding the fire by a wide berth. Something strikes you about them however, they don't seem all that healthy or alive, as they seem sluggish and sometimes bump against each other.
"This isn't good."
The snakes suddenly freeze and they all at the same time look at you. Then they all open their mouths to reveal multiple rows of sharp fangs and hiss at you both. It seems that their appetite hasn't lessened, it just increased their diet to accept more diverse food scources. The man screams in terror but you hold it together and pull him to the middle of the road to see that lit by a street light on the other side are MORE snakes approaching you. The snakes are moving quickly and two options are left to take before you get eaten:
Go back the way you came.
or
Race ahead to the nearby firehouse into the unknown.
Better think fast...
Twiggie, Vanigo and Archangel:
You all decide to head to the police station to help out the officers. Mattheiu is concerned that the police won't accept Asa since he is a known criminal, but they all reckon that they have more important things to worry about than criminal records right now. You all decend the staircase to the ground level and leave and head towards the police station.
There is stating to be more zombies on the streets now that darkness is falling but you all manage to stay out of sight and notice. Jake thinks that they should all be ready and gives George his hammer as a weapon. George nods his thanks and keeps it in hand.
You all notice a increase in heat as you pass a block and you can see distant fires down the street. You pass it though and you can start to hear the occasional gun shot from ahead. You keep going and you come to a T-section in the street and the station suddenly shows itself. You see two officers blasting zombies away from the gates with practiced precision and you shout and wave to them as you jog towards them so to make sure you don't get shot, while avoiding the zombies that suddenly turn their attention to you. The officers notice you coming and they cover your approach as you start to sprint to them. After some close calls and a couple of shoves, you make it unharmed and without using your weapons. Asa and Mattheiu ready their guns and with the officers you clear the crowd of zombies with minimal shots.
The officers take the chance to lean against the metal gate for a breather and one of them talks to Jake.
"Did Officer Stone send you?"
"No, we saw you from the roof of a building and it seemed a good idea to come here and help."
"We are thankful for your help, but it was a bad idea to come here if you ask me. The metal fence that surrounds the station which helps keep the zombies out, is also keeping us trapped inside. We are running out of time, supplies, and energy. It's rentless shit, no matter how many we kill, more keep coming. We even thought about using their bodies to make a wall, theres that many! And we barely pull through nights, don't know if we are gonna last this one, let alone the next few."
"Is it ok if we stay here for the night?"
"More than ok, we needed help and it looks like your it. You don't have a choice now."
The other officer looks a bit ashen from lack of sleep but he looks up and notices Asa. He's eyes widen and he whips his gun up at him.
"Don't move! I know who you are, scum!"
"Brent, calm down! What's wrong?"
"Do you know who this man is?! He's a murderer! Killed our soldiers!"
"Is that true?" the officer asks Jake.
Jake looks at the others and Asa decides to take command.
"Yes, I'm Asa Corpse. I was hoping that it wouldn't come to this, since it looks like you need our help."
"I don't care, you deserve to rot in a cell!"
"BRENT! Pull it together! This isn't the time nor the place!"
Officer Brent's hand is shaking now. After a while, he lowers the gun.
"This man is dangerous. He was said to be a psycho, killing people for fun."
"That is totally not true!" Jake replies, anger straining his voice slightly. "He is a good man to have by your side when in a bad situation, I can vouch for him!"
The remaining officer thinks about the situation for a bit before replying.
"Ok, heres what we are gonna do. The situation is so bad that yes, we do need all the help we can get. If it comes to criminals, then so be it. If he steps out of line even once though, I will not hesitate to throw him in a cell. Believe me, we all know what he is capable of. He can stay here as long as he helps, he hasn't got a choice to go anywhere else right now anyway. We can sort out justice later, just remember; One toe over the line and it's the lockup for you."
"Thank you officer. Now, how can we help?" Asa curtly asks.
"You can start by not dying. All of you should head inside to the foyer, senior officer Simmons will give you ideas from there if you want. Just remember, if you can fight, you will fight if the time comes. Oh yeah, stay away from the armory and the garage, we haven't cleared those floors yet and we don't have the time or resources to do so right now."
The officer nods towards the main enterance as he stands up straight. Officer Brent starts a patrol of the entire fence while he stands guard near the gate, looking out on the city.
What now?
Org:
You hold your rifle in one hand and manage to drag the man with your other. You drag him around to the door and inside. Ripping some of his clothing up as well as a sheet off the bed, you make two pads and tie them on where his legs were with strips around his hips. It's not perfect, but it will do with what you've got. You get up to shut the door and when you turn around the man has awoken. You lean your rifle against the wall and lift the man onto the bed. He lets out a crackly moan and you let him sip a bit of your water. He give you a nod of thanks and blacks out again.
You straighten and look around yourself. Well, it looks like you're going to have to stay here for the night, so you decide to prepare the building better. There are 2 windows and the door as exits. You don't have any boards and nails, so you have to settle for placing furniture infront of these exits. The fridge is good and heavy and you shove that infront of a window after some effort. For the other window, that long dining table will do the thing and you tip it on its end and infront of the window. It's a bit unsteady so you wedge two chairs against it in a triangle shape to lend it strength. For the door, you decide that that stove is good enough and you push it against the door to wedge it shut. You stand back and look over your work. It will have to do for now, there's not much else you can use other than the bed, the small table that the radio sits on and two more chairs that you don't know what to do with.
You wonder what the man has on him, but just one look at his clothing says nothing. He can't carry anything anyway. That leaves just looking around the cabin once more. You start to search again, but once again, the trash gets in the way. You decide to just pile the trash in a corner which the fridge used to sit in, and after a while, the cabin is noticeably cleaner and easier to look at. While you were cleaning, you found a box of ammunition with about 20 bullets in it. 30-40 springfield rounds the box says. Those don't work with your rifle however, but you put them in your backpack anyway, you never know.
You sit down against the wall and look at the wounded man, he's starting to stir again, and you think of what to do now.
Strife26:
You back away slowly, breathing slow and calmly, looking around you for something to use. Anything! Nothing catches your eye, but you almost trip on something. Its a broom that you somehow didn't notice before. You put your knife away and snatch up the broom, it's better than nothing. You can't really kill something with this, but you can push them away! You back towards the door and seeing your chance, you rush out the door, slamming it shut behind you!
Oh... Not good.
You emerge into a avenue of sorts, which has many many zombies roaming around it and now turning towards you from the noise of you slamming the door. They all start to move towards you!
NOT GOOD!
You think fast and notice what looks like a pub nearby. There aren't many zombies that way either so you decide to go to the pub. You rush towards the shabby building, pushing the odd zombie aside with your broom, sticking it between two zombies and ducking under it then pulling it with you. You make it to the pub in quick time, not bad for a sick guy. The door is locked so you smash the nearby window in with your elbow and reach in to unlock it. After doing so, you pull the door open, rush in and slam it shut!
Whew...
Grrmmgrrrmrgggmm....
SHIT! There's a zombie right in front of you! It's too close to push it away with the end of the broom and you won't get your knife out in time so you hold the broom horizontally and wait for it to get close. It rushes at you but your ready and block it with the broom and shove it away. You push it further away with the end of the broom into a pool table and manage to draw your knife as its approaching again. You dodge it's lunge and slam the blade home through the underside of the zombies skull.
You withdraw your knife and after stomping on the zombies head a few times, you turn around to inspect the dark pub. The lights aren't on and you can't see much. You make out three doors, two side by side and one behind the counter. The moans of the zombies outside are getting louder and closer, and it's now getting dark you realise.
