Make a break for the fire station. Really fast. If there's snakes in the way, they seem kinda sluggish so we can just jump over them if we can't go around.

If the cop that wants to lock me up is close by, I talk specifically to him, but if not I explain to my companions. "I didn't kill any soldiers! I slipped into the city without incident but then I came upon three uniformed guys. I immediately recognized Edwin Elvy, my brother's best friend. They were arguing" Asa clenches his fists "then suddenly the other two shot Ed! I charged, forgot my knife entirely, punched the closer one in the head, it collapsed with the force of my punch! I grabbed the back of the other guy's head and smashed his face into the wall again and again and again till it was a bloody mess. I think I would have done more but Ed made a sound so I dashed to his side. I did my best but the wounds were too bad! Just before he died"  Asa starts to cry "he told me to take his pistol, ammo, radio and helmet, so I did. I closed his eyes. At that moment someone started to shoot at me, so I ran. I think the two I killed were mercenaries. The soldiers must have assumed I killed all three and that I was looting but I wasn't! Damn it!"
After I calm down I report to Senior Officer Simmons and volunteer to clear out the gararge, to vent my anger.

If you're doing that, I'll ask the cops to cover me while I pile up bodies for a bonfire at the gate. Keep an eye out for anything good on them while I'm at it, too. George should probably borrow Matt's gun and go with you; you're more likely to need backup.

By the way, if I can find one I'm going to set a pipe or two at the bottom of the bonfire to let air in, lying them across the ground with one end at the bottom of the pile of bodies. Should burn much better that way.

Asa was undefeated champion and known as the one hit wonder in local boxing circles because of his mighty left and right hooks, and impressive everything else. Add to that his great strength and his fury at the apparent death of one of his best friends and it's quite reasonable.
