I investigate the closet, but not opening it immediately. It could be a trap.

With my new axe in hand, I head to the cabin, and stand behind Cheeetar as he is opening the mysterious closet.

Closet
The closet is coated with dust. It appears no one has been here in a long time. There is a glass bottle lying on the floor. At the end of the closet, you can see what looks like an odd assortment of shiny crates.

Captain Inaluct makes sure that no one steals our horses.

I pick up the glass bottle and throw it at the crates, to make sure it's not some sort of booby trap.

You throw the bottle at the crates. It shatters, and the liquid inside spills all over it.

The crates begin to rise into the air.

Or- Crates of having a rope on top of them that is made of glass and slowly being pulled up to reveal scorpions!

I guess it's a good thing that I didn't go with my original plan of hacking wildly at the crates.  ;D

I assume a defensive position, with my shield raised, and wait to see what the crates are doing.

The shiny white-ish crates levitate up and bump against the ceiling. After a while, they fall back down again.

Upon closer inspection, it appears the crates are not crates at all. They form some sort of slightly boxy humanoid shape. They are also made out of a silvery metal, not of wood.
You notice a nearby lever.

Captain Inaluct, unaware of the metal boxes, continues to watch the horses.

Now you're just screwing with us because we ran away and didn't fight the enemy army.
