Upon closer inspection, it appears the crates are not crates at all. They form some sort of slightly boxy humanoid shape. They are also made out of a silvery metal, not of wood.
You notice a nearby lever.
Oh hey their that cube race from D&D whos name escapes me...

Inaluct walks outside and kneels down, and digs a hole. After 10 hours, he finally finishes, and lowers Aoness in. Then he fills the hole in and puts Aoness's possessions on the hole.

He then procedes to melt the house with lazers. Big, splodey lazers.
