You do realize that if Hydras regrow heads freely, we'll end up with >10,000 headed Hydras from worldgen, right?

Of course, such a hydra would likely collapse under its own weight due to DF's realistic treatment of bodies.  This reminds me of a certain comic that I can't find the link to.

Toady has come down with the flu and has been sick for a couple days.  There will be no dev update tonight, but hopefully the future will be brighter tomorrow!

See, this is what happens when you add poison and disease effects.  You have to deal with them.  As for the name, Adams is perfectly explicable as a male-line naming along with female-line descent from Norwegian areas.  Tarn, now, Tarn is the interesting name.  Apparently Tarn is an English word descended from a Scandinavian term for a small, steep sided mountain lake carved by glaciers.  It's also a river in France and a British last name.  And probably some other things I didn't find out about.

Makes sense since the Scandinavians (Vikings, Saxons, and various other groups that were collectively called the Norse) did spread out all over most of Europe, except for Spain I think, not sure.
