I don't know what it is but The Wall is easy for me. Chaingun just decimates them, and yes I'm going to keep saying that.

 I never quite figured out how to effectively use a chaingun. Seems that there is no ammo for them, so they just run out after a few shots and you need a new one. Unless they use pistol ammo. In which case I'm an idiot.

 Still, the good 'ol Battle Shotgun has served me well enough. And by the point I can tunnel through the wall I have a good stockpile of missiles to use on the other side of the wall.

 I'm just annoyed at the nobility appearing in the level right after when I was not expecting it for a few more levels.

I'm sad. I had a great game going last night, using the Assault Shotgun and a modded Rocket Launcher. Had the trait that let me keep extra heath, so I was usually over 100%, and I'd just found a level where I could see a Unique Armor. Then...I had to go, so I saved. I didn't realize loading a Save sent you down to the next level immediately. So I lost a Unique Armor, some powerups (including a pink one, whatever that is) and whatever experience I'd have gained on that level. And then died two levels down to an Arch Vile. *SIGH*

The pink powerup was the rarest of them all, and a godsend at any time. It was a Megasphere, which fully repairs armor and sets your health to 200%. Would have worked perfectly with that armor.

Figures. I have a sinking feeling that if I hadn't done that I could have actually had my first win in this game.

Just beat the Cyberdemon, armed with The Jackhammer. It took five shots with that thing. Five. Shots. It's the best weapon evar. (6d3)x3 combat shotgun, I had 10/10 cybernetic armor, and was also invulnerable.

Honestly, my favorite unique is the Revenant Launcher. You can keep the Cyberdemon out of LoS with that baby, which is a delightful tactic.

Ah man, I just went through (till level 13 at least) as an angel of shotgunnery.  The two uniques I found?  Trigun and the Anti-Freak Jackal.   I wish I had been doing AoM.

Heh, that wasn't my best run though, my best was a plasma-rifle wielding heavy-ordinance-loving ammoeater, whom I decided I needed the most manly name for:

There's nothing wrong with green armor.  Dodging is a wonderful strategy, and it's often easier to do armorless.
