Try Gainax's Abenobashi Mahou Shoutengai, especially for the proto-Gurren Lagan stuff in episode 3. Pretty much every episode parodies a different genre of fiction.

Try some Sgt. Frog, although a lot of it is reference humor it still has some funny parody humor from time to time.

You know, I just found Sgt. Frog because of Turntable FM and watched some on Funimation.

AND I CAN SHAMELESSLY SAY I WANT EVERY. SINGLE. ONE. OF THOSE GUNDAM MODEL KITS.

*cough*

Well. You'll have to excuse me, it must be all this hot weather we're having.

Yeah. I started to appreciate the anime over the manga after they reordered some of the scenes involving their training but this episode really highlights how much it surpasses the source material.

This looks like its going to be interesting...
The Cleaner/Typesetter didn't fix one page where they overlayed the English tanslation over the Korean Characters but other then that there is a great feeling of one of those Animanga style artwork where the images just flow into one another so easily...

I am starting to skip intros and endings and I found that

Yes it vastly improves the vast majority of animes if you do not watch the intros or endings. Some are ok but for most they are just a pile of spoilers.

Have you guys ever watched an anime and they started to explain things in fantastical terms (Like the main character is actually from Atlantis) and somehow the more fantastical the explanation the less interesting it is? Like somehow there was more emotional resonance in the most likely scenario and plot development that this unfolding somehow comes off as boring by comparison?

It barely even makes sense to me, but ohh well.

I can see where Neonivek is coming from on this one. It's because that is often done without any sort of worldbuilding. "John is from Brooklyn." carries meaning because we have a wealth of knowledge and beliefs about Brooklyn and people who reside in Brooklyn. "Jawhyan is from Bleepborp 7" doesn't carry meaning because we don't know a thing about Bleepborp 7, making it boring filler material rather than a part of their backstory which helps us define their character. If, on the other hand, the history, politics, culture, and society of Bleepborp 7 have been explored to any sort of meaningful degree earlier in the story, it suddenly stops being pointless and boring. It's all about implied meaning.

On the other hand, it's never really been something that actually affects how I feel about a work, because it's one of the smallest nits there is to pick. That aside, a good work will build that meaning as it goes. You shouldn't need an infodump prior to the first chapter/episode/whatever to be able to enjoy something.
