I took the liberty of highlighting the term you are overlooking. Without substantial fuel, which could be obtained by the possession of both powers by funneling air into the flame, a linearly progressive summoning of flame is wasteful because you are summoning a lot more flame than needed. With said power, and sufficient power, one should be able to summon fire on the target, with no intermediary flames. As such, doing so is a waste of energy.

It has since dawned on me that the problem was that the words I was using were too big. Whee...

Things could have gone better.  I had Ideas for when I got up there, but the flaying of animals shall have to wait.

I stand and think about my recent failures, hoping to figure out a way to avoid such things in the future.
