Turn 1 - Pre-Battle

Eliminate protesters

<Incoming communication>

[WMB] Anna E: "Greetings mercenaries. I am Anna E the WMB Industries liaison. It would seem the BIA caught wind of this small operation and hired a mercenary of their own. This shouldn't pose much of an issue to you professionals I presume? Some just can't help but side with the losing side it would seem... Anyway take care of them and the BIA MU, and the protesters will be easy targets."

<End of communication>

Defend civilians

<Incoming communication>

[BIA] Edgar V: "Hello mercenary. My name is Edgar V, attached BIA liaison. Thank you for accepting our contract. And whether you took it for money or out of morale duty, you are a great help. Our MU will cooperate with you to fend off the mercenaries."

<Greetings, Tokiyuki guard pilot. This will just be a routine test.>

They're not very bright to not open fire right away. I'll take advantage of it by shooting first. Destroy the guard mechs!

Zereth didn't deign the BIA's taunting words with an answer, instead turning SOVEREIGN's head towards his apparent ally and opening a secure channel.

<Sovereign here. Thought I'd be running this contract solo.>

<Looks like both are configured as Shock units. Let's let them come to us.>

Proposed Battle Plan:
BAD JOKE holds until BIA enter our Zone.
SOVEREIGN attacks with missiles until BIA enters our Zone, at which point he switches to the AR.

"Pleasure doing business with you, Ms. Anna."
"This is just business, yeah? Let's have a beautiful fight, LTM."
|M1, deal with the Artillery. I assure you, I'm much better than whatever disgrace they have piloting that Assault.|

Move forwards and attempt to begin combat with D1. If we're in range, Engage them to prevent them from interrupting M1.

Drifter's soft and dispassionate voice answered through the secure channel.

Callsign Drifter. Long range capabilities were not expected in this contract, but appreciated.

Plan acknowledged. Will begin interception when enemy MUs draw near.

Drifter accepts the proposed plan.

                   |                  |

[HUB] HUB_M1: "Very well. Let's get the party started"

Reach Heaven and the Hub Mercenary starts advancing toward the enemy targets. On the other side, the Begreris Defender moves in to intercept them and protect Long Tom.

Long Tom fires its Kinetic Cannon, ripping apart the legs of the Reach Heaven with incredible force. Despite the damage, Reach Heaven engages the Begreris Defender and the two exchange fire. But with its legs in terrible state, Reach Heaven is unable to take cover and take some direct hits to its core.

The Hub Mercenary forges on and strike Long Tom with its Pulse Sword, cleanly decapitating the Modular Unit. Yet even with its main sensor taken out, Long Tom manages to land another clean hit on Reach Heaven, this time destroying its arms thus rendering it powerless.

With its Modular Unit unresponsive, Caliber is unable to keep up with the Begreris Defender who destroys its core. Caliber ejects to safety.

The battle ends quickly afterwards as the Defender comes to support Long Tom. Together, they take out the remaining Modular Unit with ease.

Alriiiight, that's it for the playtest/tutorial... that was a disaster haha.

I will also have to adjust a FEW things. First on the list:
- Arms will be split into Left Arm and Right Arm on the Hit Table.
- I will make Mounted Weapons available.
- Combat Shields will see a little adjustment too. They will use a Weapon Slot (held with an Arm), and protect the Hit Table of certain body parts.
- Reducing the number of Turns per Round from 3 to 2. Both to make it easier for me, and to let combat be a bit more interactive.

Also because it was the first battle, the failures will not count. You will also have the option to respec your pilot and rebuild your MU if you feel like it.

More coming soon.

Dear customers. We apologize for the inconvenience caused by this hotfix. As an apology, every player registered after the 10th of September will receive 1400 premium currency and a free 10-pull on the current banner.

Hotfix 1.00314c
Quote
- Arms are now split into the Left Arm and the Right Arm on the Hit Table

- Thrusters are now on the Hit Table by default

- The Hit Table has been updated so that the Core is easier to hit and the Head harder to hit.
1: Head
2-4: Core
5: Core (Thrusters)
6: Left Arm
7: Right Arm
8-10: Legs

- Damaged/Destroyed penalties have been changed for Head, Arms, and Legs parts:
Head (Damaged): Unable to detect units beyond the adjacent zones / -1 Detection / -1 Jamming
Head (Destroyed): Unable to detect units beyond the current zone / -2 Detection / -2 Jamming
Arms (Damaged): Arm Load increases by 1.
Arms (Destroyed): Weapon becomes unusable
Legs (Damaged): Leg Load increases by 1 for each part / -1 Dodge / -1 Position
Legs (Destroyed): Leg Load increases by 2 for each part / -2 Dodge / -2 Position / Movement Disabled if the Thrusters are destroyed
Thrusters (Destroyed): Pursuit and Evasion become -2 / Movement takes twice as long

- To accomodate some of the above changes, Arm Load and Leg Load can have negative values. This however does not lead to an increase of Pilot Skills.

- Combat Shields now use a Weapon Slot and protect other body parts. Default shields protect half the Core, the entirety of the Arm that is wielding it, and a third of the Legs. On the Hit Table, this is show with the [ symbol.
1: Head
2-3: Core
[4 Core
[5: Core (Thrusters)
[6: Left Arm
7: Right Arm
[8: Legs
9-10: Legs

- Detection and Profile have been reworked. A new Modular Attribute is being added, Stealth.
-> Automatic Detection rolls disappear. Instead, Detection is compared to Stealth+Range Modifier
-> Profile remains unchanged, and will mainly be used in autobattle target selection
-> Stealth is a new value that is equal 6 - Profile
-> Any unit can launch an active scan, which takes 1 Turn and double their Detection for 2 more Turns.

The WMB Starter Catalogue has been updated. Durability and damage increased across the board.
Mounted Weapons are now available: they behave like Body Parts, so they will increase Handling due to their Weight and will be affected by the Leg part choice.
A limit of 2 Mounted Weapons can be equipped.

To accomodate for the change, the Weight Classes thresholds are being updated.
Light = 6 base profile or lower
Standard/Medium = 11 base profile or lower
Heavy = 12+ base profile

Free respec/rebuild:
You may respec your Pilot Skills from scratch with 6 Pilot Skill Points.
You may rebuild your MU from scratch with a fund of 25000VC.

Turn 1 - Post-Mission Report

Eliminate protesters

<Incoming communication>

[WMB] Anna E: "That was rather disappointing, mercenaries. I expected you to put up a better fight, but I shouldn't be surprised with how low the Hub admission criteria are. You still managed to complete the job, somehow. It seems your little show of force brought back some sense to the protesters, who evacuated the scene with the help of the MUs who defeated you. A deal is a deal. You will receive your payment."

You did however manage to keep the Arballister scouts distracted enough for our Tokiyuki MUs to take them out by surprise. We are good sports, you will still receive half the promised payment."

<End of communication>

Destroy Tokiyuki excavation parties
