Some of the flaws of this game are quickly becoming apparent.

At any rate, are you guys still having fun with this? I figure a fun inspection is in order.

websim.ai is coming dangerously close to being able to run Gridhood. Maybe I'll live to see the day if I exercise, eat right, and somehow convince the world's governments not to nuke everyone.

Sure, I'm having fun, especially relative to the effort it takes to play. Although I imagine it's significantly more effort to run.

I do sometimes feel like I'm unsure where the game is going. Without a goal to gradually build towards I guess the game is going to continue until either a bad enough streak of luck kills the player or the game dies out? Or maybe we'll eventually research some competitive cards and kill each other? Idk.

Does steal luck copy persistent predators?

"The next time another player plays a card" vs "It plays itself" I figured that would mean that since predator plays itself it's not the player playing it, so it wouldn't count? I could see why you'd read it another way, but I'm unsure. (Given the nature of the game, when questions like this come up, I play them out as literally as possible and move on, to not bog down with too many rules questions, but now you got me doubting)

Yep, the card was from RulerOfNothing's 19th turn, after my 23th.
Also correct on the Seabirds part. (6-3)*2 is 6, is it not? i include the deduction of food used to play the card in the outcome. Been doing that for a while. No point in writing out more calculations than necessary. The numbers are correct that's all that matters.

Yeah, what's at question isn't that, but rather if persistent predators itself counts, given it plays itself, not a player playing it.

I don't think it does, given no player is playing it, or it's still being played by you by a forced effect.

Steal Luck specifically says it activates when a player plays a card with a pink background. In this case, a discard effect caused a card to specifically 'play itself'. Discarding a card is not playing a card, so I am ruling that if it comes into play due to being discarded then it does not activate Steal Luck's effect in this scenario.

If a player chooses to play it normally, Persistent Predator could still trigger Steal Luck though.
