Anyway, we have 14 budget points, and 5 Maintenance.
We'll be spending 1 budget point on the design, which leaves us with 8 points left.

Feel like we can produce a neat amount of stuff wit that.

I would suggest requisitioning mortar rounds from the army. We can use them as lightweight bombs. I feel this would be more effective than rangefinding equipment in the north, as it will be a city siege and thus not as conducive to artillary fire due to the close quarters. Being able to drop "precision" shots from an aircraft would be more effective I feel.

We do have the southern front to consider however. We can't just ignore one theatre and push in another.

If we move our spotter balloons south  (with an armed feather squadron as protection) and amass the majority of our feathers for the push in the north, I can back the spotter gear, as they'll be of use there.

Sounds good, we should dedicate a squadron or two to balloon hunting on the central front as well, to keep them on their toes there.

We don't have that many planes. We have 3 squadrons. Sending 1 to escort balloons and 2 to hunt in the center leaves us nothing in the North, excrpg for maybe some new recruits.

Anyway :

1) I dislike recquisitioning bombs. The more roles we give our pilots, the less effective they are at each. Scout/Hunter/bomber is too much.
2) I'm not certain balloon spotters would be useless near the city. If it is fortified, there may be significant artillery battles between our artillery and their entrenched artillery.

As such, I propose we keep most of our stuff in the North.

If we arm the third squadron and build another armed one, we'll have four. That's enough for a squadron to run protection, and three more to support the city assault.

Sure, but not enough to send 2 more squadrons to the plains.

That was Taricus' suggestion. I'm for artillery balloons defending the central front and three fighter squadrons assaulting the north.

Hey GM: Can we mothball a squadron so that we don't have to pay maintenance on them?

I want to keep balloons in the North. They got us this far, I see no reason why they'd suddenly stop working.

I'm concerned about the ridiculous territory losses we're taking in the central plains.

We could go +2 armed squadrons, split the balloons, and recall the unarmed squadron for airshow duty. Each front gets 1 air superiority + 1 air superiority+recon squadron.

Just holding the fronts, while shelling a town, is better than giving them mostly clear skies in the south, I'd say.

If we did do that I'd send the rookie squadron and give their guns to the other unarmed neophytes.

Just a note, the rookies are our most experienced pilots, not the neophytes.

Exactly. The report implied that more experienced pilots be more effective in that role.
