Hmm, then I vote NOC, but preferably one that is new.
Unless this is a continuation of the last game??
If so I have much reading to do?

Alrighty, from the look of it, it is highly likely you will start in Mt Tartarus, with a NPC as a ruler. :)

This won't be a continuation of the last game even if we go with the same starting setting and characters. No prior reading needed as such!

Is it OK if we do worldbuilding independantly of the game? Just teensy-weensy posts?

There is no problem with worldbuilding, I'm open to it. Though of course don't go for big facts that could shake the whole world. Or if you really want to, consult with me first!

There is a bit of lore that will be unveiled over time. It should allow for flexibility, but we never kno.

Yeah, as long as you discuss it with Nakeen first, shouldn't be any problems. I mean, I pretty much created a whole new category of magic for You are a Monster.

Whelp, I'm a dumbass who expressed interest and then forgot the thread esisted.

I hope there's still room for players?

Spoiler: A character is in here (click to show/hide)

Also, I think I like the forest or the swamp. Not a big fan of Tartarus.

Glass is, as usual, correct.
Yep, as ever, I bestow upon Glass the expected +1
I'm gonna say we go with whatever Glass's idea is.

Yeah, I'm also interested in the magic swamp. Sadly, I don't think I'm allowed to vote.

The dog behind the man behind the beard.
Immortality like that would be even more game breaking than four Aaron's in one place.
You're both so obviously scum that this is a surprisingly difficult decision.

The game proper will start in 6h at most, and 3h at best. I have some things to take care of.

If it is okay with everyone, it seems the players will start in Mt Tartarus, and their kingdom will inherit name and ruler from the old game.

Here is how the first turn will happen. I will grant you various bonuses according to your sheet, and then the turn will start at Free Time. To help you familiarize yourselves with the Capital or prepare yourselves for Mission Time, the turn start will be a bit slower than usual.

That being said, see you later!

Player data, with added starting bonuses. Their effects are non-exhaustive, they will definitely do more than what is listed in their description. Feel free to contest or suggest something else if you don't like your starting bonuses.

The introduction turn will come a bit later (3h at most).

Turn 0 : Year 0 of the Zethean Calendar ~The Foundation of Zethe~

Mt Tartarus :

Mt Tartarus. Yesterday, twisting winds raged and screamed from the ebon sides of that lone, jagged figure with peaks sharper than spears. This monster of nature that no mortals could have possibly created stood unconquered for aeons, protected by its violent microclimate and treacherous cliffs which took the life of many a reckless venturer. An unruly and immortal beast, whose secrets and ancient ruins nested in its core remained untouched for aeons...

And yet today, this very Mount Tartarus is as calm as the blue, cloudless sky it is bathing under. For the first time since times untold, the mountain is blowing a soft breeze and its skies have opened themselves, as if to welcome its new masters. For as of today, Mt Tartarus has become the capital of Zethe, the Monstrous Kingdom.

To celebrate the conquest of the Tartarus, the king of the new kingdom is appearing before all its citizens. Radeus, the mysterious demon whose charisma and power earned him the respects of his fellow monsterkin, who chose him to lead as a King. His twin upright horns and his wide wings attest of his ancestry. Taller than a human, his skin is dark like the bottomless night, contrasting with its ivory hair. And finally, there is his mystic golden eyes, whose gaze seems to permeate the soul and see beyond the horizon.

This is your king, who is currently raising a tear-shaped crystal to the view of all. The Tear of Idna, symbol of your kingdom and its ideals. Upon this seemingly fragile jewel resting in the palm of your king nests your nascent nation, for without it, none of the monsters present could have united under a common banner.

As the cheers and roars of the monstrous citizens of Zethe rise, the curtain rises on the prologue of your story.

(...)

The ceremony having ended, and all important executives of Zethe have gathered in a grand hall of the Tartarus ruins. The five of you stand as equals of the King as his trusted advisors, companions and executives.

There was much to be done. Radeus spoke to the assembly with a serious tone:
"There is much to be done. Ror the next few days, we will be working on strengthening our foothold here in Tartarus. We are mainly looking for stabilizing our food production and accomodating the various citizens, for as you all know, our space is currently limited."

You knew what the King meant with these words. The Tear exerted its powers over an influence radius that only a few could sense accurately. Radeus was one of them. The meeting continued as each executive got assigned a task. All, except the five of you. Then turning toward you, he said.
"As the five Zethean Lords, I will leave you to choose your designation over the few days. Feel free to prepare for what is to come, for once we are done with setting up the capital, will we work on expanding the Tear's influence, our influence."

After a few more words, the assembly was disbanded.

---------------------FREE TIME---------------------

First of all, what will you do as your first action in the capital?

This is Free Time. You may choose an action or a series of actions to do over a few days while you stay in the capital. Following this will be Mission Time, during which you will be busy for an extensive amount of time.

TRAVELING:
Traveling to a distant region costs Supplies. The Supply cost increases depending on the size and composition of your army.
To get the Supply cost of a single way travel, multiply the supply cost with the distance.

Example: an army costing 10 Food will need 20 Food to travel to a Distance 2 region, and 40 Food to make a two-way trip.

---------------------EVENTS---------------------

>Mt Tartarus was conquered and became the capital of Zethe.

>The Forgotten Guard, who once were the dominant group of Mt Tartarus, have joined Zethe.

>Ore deposits of unknown minerals have been found on Mt Tartarus.

attempt to recruit a scouting force, primarily consisting of monsters with good vision or the ability to fly. After that, do some information gathering on the unnamed forest.

Eversor will start gathering an army, preferably undead, and begin training them.
