I gave them a lot of shit for this, but, technically, the bolts are envenomed, not poisoned.

So would poison from surface monsters, or exoskeletons, or captured monsters themselves use silk?

Yes, in all likelihood.

On that theme, I'm guessing Ore covers anything dug out of the ground and Silk covers anything taken from surface monsters. Is there anything non-obious that Crystal covers?

I don't think so. Largely because Crystal is basically the material of magic. Lumin crystals, weapons crystals, lift, trim, whatever- they're crystal based. Crystal will be the easiest material to work in when defying reality, so while the material itself is specific, its results are general.
