I'm guessing so. Any Wrethi engineers want to confirm that Silk is involved in their Poison Bolts?

We can confirm that we do not possess Poisoned Bolts.

You are spider-lovers, your combat reports cannot be trusted.

Thus we also know what spider-related toxins look like. And those bolts be toxic yo.

Our combat reports say otherwise.

I gave them a lot of shit for this, but, technically, the bolts are envenomed, not poisoned. :P

So would poison from surface monsters, or exoskeletons, or captured monsters themselves use silk?
Yes, in all likelihood.

On that theme, I'm guessing Ore covers anything dug out of the ground and Silk covers anything taken from surface monsters. Is there anything non-obious that Crystal covers?

I don't think so. Largely because Crystal is basically the material of magic. Lumin crystals, weapons crystals, lift, trim, whatever- they're crystal based. Crystal will be the easiest material to work in when defying reality, so while the material itself is specific, its results are general.

Once you've stuck it on a crossbow bolt and shot it at someone, it doesn't particularly matter how the monster used it. From our point of view there ain't much difference.

Unless you decide to eat the bolts, they're not poisonous.

If you do, please send a message to Spire Wreth. We'll hapilly cater for the Royal family.

Heck, some venoms are perfectly ok to eat. There is a very distinct difference between venom and poison.

Still, if you do decide to eat the bolts, please send in the report of the results.

The fact that they are all spiders would probably invalidate the results though...

If a bureaucracy causes you argue so much about semantics, then Kasgyre is doing the world a favour.

If the servants of the Spider Queen don't know the difference between poison and venom, then Wreth is doing the world two favors.

If the filthy bureaucrats are prevented from stealing the pristine resources of the Three Captains, we're doing three spires a bunch of favors.
