Artillery aside, I'm thinking we were mostly ducked by rolling a 1 on that last roll. Probably some sort of cosmic justice after doing so well in the last skirmish.

I wouldn't be so sure. We'd likely have gotten Intel regarding them mobilizing if they had concrete plans to join the war.

we rolled a two though, and the Calvary fled, so assumedly we get some back after the battle.

This causes them to quickly abandon the ida of attack against your cavalry; they pack whatever they can and retreat en masse, allowing the surviving Methiantese horsemen to reach your hills without harassment.

By the evening, your officers gather as the scouts bring news; the Damdamians have retreated behind a stream, and have erected some rudimentary palisades and barricades across it.

Casualties have been moderately high; at least two thousand Methiantese were lost, mostly cavalry. Of Damdamians, where were approximately three thousand and two hundred bodies.

What to do?

A) We rest and recuperate as well, waiting for things to happen.
B) We send skirmishers and horsemen to harass their encampment.
C) We march onwards to wipe Damdamians from Methiantese soil!

Hm, casualties (on both sides) were not as high as I expected. Both armies are essentially intact.

I'm going to say C.

Our horsemen took the brunt there, let's give the foot soldiers a turn. We should have a Fireblood Infantry advantage, I think, since they were equipping Fireblood Cavalry. Is there any way we can specify fording the stream elsewhere and not attacking across it, possibly using the local hills as cover for our maneuvers? Or do we just have to roll and hope our martial bonus kicks in?

By the morning, scouts bring news; the Damdamian forces are on the move, retreating towards the border with Eval! They've left their stream-bank encampment intact, clearly not trying to dismantle it.

A) Chase them! Destroy the cowards!
B) No need to rush, they will come back.

I wish option A didn't sound so much like another -1 for Reckless Charge. But I don't want to let them wander away, not toward the extra 10K running amok in Eval.
