That actually seems ruder, to me. I'd prefer to say, calmly and sympathetically, something like "I won't open your private mail, but I'm concerned to know that you are sending secret messages. Is there something you would like to talk about?"

Do tell, am I also watched through the walls by your agents, just in case I might be plotting something against your Empire in my bedchambers?
