You can't help but notice that she still avoids the topic of the letter.

The longer this goes on the more I think it's going to be nothing. We should have just had the letter opened, then we'd know by now.
(BTW, why doesn't the Spymaster have a copy of important people's personal seals so as not to be noticed snooping on their mail? Just saying.)

Parsia has been uptight over religion; but when they wanted a piece of our territory Shapur made a reasonable offer (which we accepted, that's how reasonable it was!) instead of just attacking. I don't think they're our enemies. More, with Eldrican buying mercenaries after making peace with the Khan, I don't want to turn Parsia hostile just now.

We have not opened the letter, and we have really no wrong yet. We deserve an answer, and if she refuses to give it we ought to just open it. The worst that happens then, is that we lose face with what's-his-face.
