Alert: The Christmas Eve party has been evacuated due to a suspicious package. PROMETHEUS bomb squads are currently acting on the issue. The package is large, around the size of a man, with red and green stripes down the side and a well-tied bow on the top. Reportedly, it has been left by a suspicious individual masquerading as the soldier who volunteered to dress as Santa for the kids. Said soldier reported that he had been slowed by the snow at 16:43 today, at which point the individual had reportedly vanished. How he managed to smuggle in a package as large as he was is unknown.
Currently, a short argument over what is to be done about the package is erupting. Many on the Research team are suggesting the package should be captured and studied, while others caution against the idea. Several on the strike teams are theorizing whether a controlled detonation would be the best way to handle this as with a mundane explosive, or if the strong aura reading meant it should be handled differently to avoid making the issue worse. The Brass mostly complained about how much it would cost to relocate the facility if the location has been discovered.
Finally having decided on a course of action, a bomb-squad robot was sent in with the intent to perform a controlled detention. A team was prepared to deploy, in the case the large package contained hostile creatures as its payload. The robot slowly approached the package...only for an icy wind to blow through the room. The bow flew off with the wind, causing the four walls to fall down revealing the contents on the robot's camera.
They are as follows:
Three large golden balls.
One life-size wooden Nutcracker, complete with a pop-musket.
One elf doll, approximately knee height. Wearing a stereotypical green outfit, with pointy ears and pointy hat.
A single note, with gold trimming apparently written with an old-fashioned feather pen. It read simply "Keep up the good work! Merry Christmas everyone!"
With the content of the package revealed, a new plan was formulated. The Aura reading was now much weaker than before, and the bomb sniffing dogs report no explosives. As such, the gold was hauled off to our market connections to help fund the project, while the other objects where brought into secure storage.
After this incident, the workers were strangely productive. There was several mild complaints that someone was playing Christmas songs too loudly for their liking, but nobody seemed to know who the source was. Others reported brilliant flashes if inspiration, like someone was whispering what they needed to know right into their ears...
