A Give the Queen the book and ask her to make us immortal together. May the gods forgive us, and may us serve them forever.

Why become Immortal with the Queen when we can probably find a better magic user than hers and become Immortal by ourselves? Plus she probably wouldn't make us immortal. I think her and that heathen are planning a two person only trip to amazing magical powers. They'd probably just leave us out or try to get rid of us once we give them the book if we asked.

So we put a new queen in control of the kingdom.

She made us go against our beliefs anyway.

and we will die like in spamkingdom

No we simply say we are still searching for the book while keeping it for ourselves. Then we wait until the time is right to strike. The problem with SPAMKINGDOM is we tried to fight the king while our Army score was super low. This time we'll patiently wait until we are able to get away with it and then we install a puppet ruler.

d6 for expedient decision making -> 1 -> A

The Duke gets a look in his burning eyes that you can't help but consider wistful despite its supernatural intensity, and you feel something snap within you as your wounds turn to ancient scars, your bones becoming brittle and your memories grow ever so slightly foggy as you lay on the ground.

You take your first breath in forty subjective years, and feel like a sackful of dust, wasted away in your spy's garb. You touch the symbol of the Hidden God, and something awakens in you.

For the others, mere moments have passed. You have fallen to the ground, and Szabo of Vesperlund appears to have made his way to the Princess, seizing her effortlessly by the arm. The Princess elects to start thanking him profusely for freeing her of the terrible captivity she suffered under the thumb of this terrible man he just killed. Szabo, to his credit, doesn't appear to be buying a word of it, unlike the entirely too sympathetic Sir Ludovic.

Left for dead, which you assuredly would have been by any sane metric, you lay by the pedestal. You still hurt, but more from general decrepitude than injury.

A) The book, the Book! The Book is the key, this you remember...
B) Rise to your feet like some kind of Don Quixote of royal skulduggery and announce that it is bloody well time for round two!
C) Play it safely dead and wait for the younguns to run off and do whatever it was they were doing.

Sucks that we lost the princess, but I guess it will have to do. Let's cut our losses. The old spymaster is still in his prime while we are barely functioning.

A Oh joy we're old now. This will be fun to be old and impaired physical in medievalish times. Hopefully we'll be able to turn to magic to make up for this handicap.

While the Princess and her pursuers work this out, you slowly drag yourself to the top of the pedestal and look at the Book of Hez-Shalhoub. The words come to you slowly from the depths of your memory.

The Princess tries not to betray that she can see you out of the corner of her eye. There is the smallest twitch of a smile before the words ring out. Klaatu... barrada... nikto!

Szabo and Sir Ludovic turn to face you standing there, the Book having delivered itself into your hands. You hold it up above the pedestal unsteadily, and feel its power radiate as the shadows among the trees stand at attention and draw closer, seemingly intrigued by whatever might happen next. The spymaster clicks disappointedly at you, hands going to his knives again but nevertheless remaining in place and alert for magical nonsense. Sir Ludovic points his sword at you uncertainly.

A) You are too tired to fight them. Go in the other direction and be free of this place.
B) Invoke the Book to bring the shadows to heel, and send them after your enemies.
C) Let the power of the Book course through you to replace what the Duke took away.
