Or we can get an espionage credit and secure the jungle fully. Once we do that we've got a lot more stuff going into cheap.

We build rocket artillery and it becomes a game-changer? Rockets are inaccurate with long reload times. Unless we can hit them as they jump out of transports onto the beach, rocket arty won't be all that important, I'd think. Unless we roll really well and it becomes a cluster-bomb-throwing super-heavy-rocket launching system.

I prefer to get an espionage credit and use it to steal their naval secrets and get a proper naval gun.

This is exactly like our first carrier.  Everyone is too afraid to take that first step.  The me 262 started development two years ago.  We'll have a research credit, we have the aerodynamics, we have the general, and we have the German partnership.  We have the perfect chance to get jets right now, and we're too scared to go for it?  "The last minute" is not when we should be trying to design a jet - we should be doing now, when we have the time, bonus, and incentive to build it.

Because we can't afford to stuff up the fighter design. Sure, we MIGHT get lucky with the jet, but we're better off getting an incremental boost to our air superiority coverage before trying.

Besides, you're voting for the damn rockets, you can't get down our gullet for not trying to improve our air force.

You know, I really really think a fighter is 100% better then rocket artillery, especially considering our general and our experience with aircraft. If we can get a major air advantage or even an uncontested air advantage, their sea advantage dies really quickly. We need air power for the jungle as well as everywhere else, in fact, its because of the enemy's air power we lost part of the mountains. So, we make an aircraft and take back the skies and our land or we make a rocket artillery and lose land. After all, Rocket artillery wont help in the jungle.

+ fucking 1

If we can get a good jet fighter out now, we can shut them out in the air until they develop their own. We really need to stop doing this thing where we have to play catch up every other turn.

Let's sink a design & a revision into this and do it right. We can hold while we do so. We have a pretty good sized infantry advantage right now.

I'm 100% on board for a jet fighter. This is the answer to the air battle and they'd never expect it.

So go vote for the damn fighter then :P
It's not ambitious enough, and we definitely need the help on the ground that new, cheap artillery can give us right now.

If you guys will support it, we can sell the Germans a decent torpedo this turn, then use the research credit next turn to start production on the jet.  The rocket artillery will buy us time, and the research credit will give us the advantage we need to make what will literally be the fastest, deadliest, most advanced airplane in the whole god damn world.

@Evicted we're going to need every bit of help we can get on the jet design, which is why we need to build the fighter this turn, and get an espionage credit. @Gunin our artillery is already cheap, it's not going to be that much more useful in the jungle

Well, if we want light artillery, how about some rocket artillery, eh?

Multiple Rocket Launcher UF-MRL-40 ‘SARUKH’
Background: Certain engineers were fascinated by the possibilities offered by rocket-powered projectiles. After the success of rocket-powered shells and grenades, a suggestion was made for a new type of weapon, one that was self-propelled, like an RPG, yet with a long range, like an artillery shell.
Description: The Sarukh is a roughly 1m long rocket, with a ~6kg warhead. The projected range is between 7500 and 12500 meters. Unguided, the rocket relies solely on fixed fins to maintain its flight path. The rockets are mounted on rails, combined into racks of [eight?], allowing several to be fired in quick succession at the same target. Reloading the racks takes a few minutes.
The main advantage of the Sarukh over conventional artillery is the lack of a heavy, expensive barrel. Instead, racks of Sarukhs can be mounted on the back of your common or garden truck (or APC, or other suitable vehicle), moved quickly around the battlefield, and produced at a low cost. This allows for artillery positions to be taken up quickly to react to enemy movements, then taken down just as quickly to avoid return fire.
The Sarukh could be modified into an incendiary variety, time permitting.
ESTIMATED DIFFICULTY: NORMAL. We already have rockets.

(Blatant Katyusha ripoff)

Normal: 5
UF-MRL-40 'SARUKH':
The Sarukh is a multiple rocket launcher, which fires finned rockets one meter long to deliver 6kg warheads at a maximum range of 12000 meters. The rockets have impressive destructive power, compared to shells they do not need thick metal casings, so most of the weight of the rocket is either warhead or propellant. The rockets are launched electrically off of rails, and the rails are in a 4x2 array. The rockets can be fired all at once, but it takes about four minutes to reload the whole launcher, so the sustained rate of fire is not better than regular artillery. However, a rocket array is extremely light compared to a cannon, and can move very quickly, firing all at once and retreating before fire is returned from the enemy. Accuracy is poor compared to shells; to reliably hit a single target with a volley they should be used within 8km. Currently available as a truck trailer. [1 Ore 3 Oil]

Yes! Turned out great!

---

An HMG will help us on all fronts. It's more versatile than our 20mm which needs its own turret if we want it on a tank, it gives our infantry a weapon for killing the Cannalan light armor like the Raider, our tanks will be safer from Cannalan aircraft and can support infantry better, and our own aircraft will have ranged parity with the Cannalans who already have .50 caliber aircraft machine guns.

M4 Kiger HMG: A 12.7mm belt-fed heavy machine gun, designed for infantry, vehicle, and aircraft use. For infantry there are two-wheeled trolleys for deploying against ground targets and pintle mounts for use against aircraft. Can be mounted on the cupolas of tanks for added infantry suppression, as well as respectable anti-armor and AA capability without needing to be mounted in a dedicated turret. Where possible, it replaces Sorraia GPMGs in fighter aircraft and ships to provide added range and firepower.

I think it's a solid choice for a revision.

PROJECT: BLOODLESS EAGLE: Essentially a change to the original blood eagle project, this swaps the explosives of the original plans for an inert liner. Expected to be lighter, safer to handle and able to be tiled over one another to increase protection from heavy rounds the plates are intended to be applied to all our existing armoured ground vehicles.
