General Shragnar,

If you feel confident with that system go ahead and post it in your OP post.

I have shifted some responsibility for ability/spell creation towards you, at least until we have a guildmaster to take that on, though it may stick with you for a time. I still expect our historian to record guildmember progress and such.(I received a personal message that he'd rather only do that than any design)

As for the items. Coin Master and General there is atleast a little to discuss. For this very early start, coin rewards will suffice.

However healing potions, weapons and armour should soon come into play.

This too is very open, with one caviot I wish to add:

Merchants should only be able to equip themselves as a thief, in regards to adventuring and combat. Such as daggers, cloaks, and crossbows. So I think the best way to go about that wood to make it so certain items are restricted to Knights.

And as far as monks I imagine they will be more spell and hand-to-hand combat base.

As you know, most weapons and armour are composed of bone, bronze, ironwood, obsidian or grey-metal.  This gives them a general grade, and a greater expense due to the rarity and difficulty to work such materials.  Each type of item also has a specialized use, such that it might alter the flow of combat.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Allow them in, but keep them held in the prison at night time to make sure that they are not infected.

Would you like me to "interview" the peasants, or keep them in comfort?

"Thank you, oh great and merciful king of these lands."
Banann moves to the side where different circles of guild members gather. He moves toward the table with a sign of a gold sack above. There he finds the person he was looking for - Voidslayer, the great merchant and treasurer of this kingdom.
"oh, noble Voidslayer, I come from far lands where currency is different than here. Could you explain how much is 150 pieces of gold wort in these lands?"

While a single gold coin can have enough value to allow a peasant to eat for a year, it still often is much too low to buy weapons and armour a knight such as yourself would deem themselves to ride to battle in.

Bone items are the most common, often among the varied tribes but crafted by our own peasants as well.  They cover a variety of wooden, soft metal and stone weapons as well.  A single gold coin would be enough to equip a bone weapon, armor and a few other low quality items.

Copper items go for around a single gold each, with a few items being multiples, and ironwood and up are... more expensive.  A greymetal longsword once cost for the treasury of another kingdom.

Once we have determined what kinds of items we have around we can work out the details.

I am thinking weapon, armor, two combat items and two utility items would be a good way to determine what someone might be equipped with when adventuring around.

Yes, weapons and equipment of certain types should generally not be allowed by certain classes.  We can work out the details once we have an item system up.

Kind of like a guild exclusivity, maaaybe allow them to be secondhand traded but primarily they should come from the guilds.

(it could also be that the guilds each teach a skill in how to use the items properly)

An idea for concealed and stash items:
You can get an outfit with more "protected" pockets, but they protect from theft less than one with fewer "protected" pockets.

And then as for your stash, this may take the form of a safe or a booby trap or something I'm not sure.

Edit
Perhaps you could hire someone to protect it even..

Edit
This ofcourse double falls into your lap Voido, being items and theft.

My King! Nothing new to report now sir. However I should advise you on your plans regarding the caravan.

They may not take too kindly to a welcome-by-dungeon.

You may need some muscle to carry out this plan. General Shragnar would best be put in charge of logistics.

You also may want a smart man or woman to help too, the charismatic type to assure them this is not anything to be too upset about, and will be handled swiftly.

Unfortunately it will be hard to choose those roles as very few have taken the general's aptitude exams.

That's not what I meant.
They would be welcomed, and then informed that for their first night, they would be put in prison, and given all that one would usually excpect in an average home. This is only for the first night and during the next full moon, no other time.

I am still thinking avout what I should do about guild funds.
((I think taht having it one day per week is a bit much, maybe one week per... A bit longer then one day.

((so far that schedule is working for me, it'll mean that if I only given overworld update once a real life week it still be every day. "daily" tasks and so forth will also be less taxing on those involved which makes a lot more possible in my opinion.))

After thinking about the currency and what Voidslayer said, Banann decides to talk to the kibg again.
"Oh, great king Imic, I'm very sorry I speakt to you again, but I ask that you borrow me now half of the price for the head of the beast so that I have funds to get the equipment in order to kill it. I do ask also for the items I brought here with me, that I haven't gotten back yet. "

((human speach: Banann needs 75 gold in advance to pay the mercenaries and he would like his items that he brought with him from the noble mountains to be allowed to be added to his inventory list. ))

Sir, you've made yourself quite the regular in the king's court...

Now these matters are the kind that could be taken up with your Guild Master(in the other thread), however I have a proposition for you.

We desperately need some record-keeping. Now you did secure an OP post in the other thread, which is an honest mistake. But we can use that as a positive. Would you be willing to record each of the guild members?

((What about stats for merchants?))

((Same ones.))
((Charisma?))

The matter of attributes in regards to Merchants has been brought up. I have invited Straldban to join us on this matter.

I see this squarely as an issue between Voido and Shragnar.
