I don't really know what to say or how to feel about this.
Yeah, I know how that is.
I already keep thinking maybe I should raise my game to get you quicker through things (without derailing the intended train of progress) because I have been fairly happy cruising through things and picking up things both drip-fed and clue-by-foured upon me.
Again, it's remarkable how things have gone. Derails have been, more the most part, amusing. And I've tried to keep the plot "resilient" in the background; the main ways to wreak havoc would involve splitting up the group, and people can understand how much of a
pain this is in RPG's, so those have (mostly) been avoided.
I think it might be good to think about 'bank'ing the up-to-endgame material with somebody, as backup against curveballs (including repeats of the loss of
Things are backed up on an external drive. Are you suggesting handing things off to another DM? That would be a lot of coaching; what do you do when so much of a world is in a person's head?
The biggest problem I see is us the players blinking in and out of existence, there being more of us needing to pick up the interest again whenever you're ready. That might be the best reason to curtail if you haven't got pre-planned work arounds already in mind.
The waitlist helps. For those parts of it that are still valid. But I've been aware how important it is to keep up interest; the sporadic posts I suggested at the end of my last post, gradually revealing unused content and saying "what would you do here?" to the general public as I go, represent one more work-around as they don't depend on players remaining stable--or even remembering what they last played some months prior.
Obviously, you're thinking a little ahead, right now. Ultimately it's your baby and I'll totally roll with your other needs and commitments. Which means I'm probably not helping you decide anything.
