FoU has some twisted role ideas. Screw second-guessing this mechanical garbage spaghetti, I'm basing everything on reads and visible daytime behaviour.

Would you like to play a game of Mafia? The subforum is always open to new players.

I'm sure I can perform some semblance of the basic rites of healing, or otherwise

Yes, all players can use bandages or other common medical items--unfortunately, the trade you made gave away your own bandages.  Someone else might have some to spare.  If you were thinking of magical healing, though, the only magic is in Overseer's (FallacyofUrist) possession right now ("packaged vitality").  I note that at no point has he offered to heal his crazy compatriots . . .

Throw a Bug Bat Bird carcass as sacrifice for the tiger then abandon the area

(I just keep laughing.  This could help, though!)

And now I'll need input from Dustan (Dustan Hache) and Sir Looty (TankKit) to know how long this carnage continues.

(At least it won't get experience from that... right?)

Continue leaving the area. Even if it means leaving people to their probable demise

More just the uttering of words that, as ex-Aspirant Monk, I surely would have known.  As a player (not going into the character!), I'm not sure they'd do anything. But if one has a figurative crutch to lean on, if not a literal one, one might as well...  ;)

(At the very damn least I'll take a kill assist tyvm.)Leave my knife lodged in his eyesocket for rag to use in finishing the thief off."when you're done with my knife, toss it in the pack and load it into my wheelbarrow."
leave with everyone when this issue is resolved.

Previous -- Next

Time for a split.  The majority of people are clearly leaving before the rest.  So what I'm going to do is follow the majority here in public; I'm sending private messages to all people left behind about what happened back there.  One presumes that survivors will follow you; in that case, they'll arrive next update, and it's up to them and their conscience what they tell you . . .

Whatever, you're done with this place.  The collective group of John, Durenadal, Overseer, and Alyssa depart for the north, taking the majority of the wheelbarrows.  John pitches a single bug bat bird carcass over his shoulder for good measure and politeness to the host.

You hear incoherent cries echoing into the distance.  Soon they stop.

Alyssa seems remarkably at ease for someone who just abandoned one group of psychos for another completely unproven group, but whatever, you walk along the crevice in silence.  The three grizzled veterans of this group are, of course, used to long marches by now.  You remember how this one was even longer than usual, liable to take you overnight.

So it is of a certain surprise when the tunnel opens up and evening has only begun.

Day 8, Evening

Where are you now?!

Another section of the caves, obviously.  You'd have remembered if there were an opal deposit here before.

Even though it's brand new to you, there have been other beings present.  John, in the lead, spots faint trails of something shiny like snail slime on the ground.

The air smells faintly of . . . vanilla.

Snarky GM note: Hey, remember when you last went down this tunnel and I used double-spaced arrows to indicate it was a double-long tunnel?  Turns out I was sneaky and changed them back to single-spaced arrows when you returned here.  This, of course, was a hint so subtle I would have to be a total jerk to expect you to use it, but it did mean that the tunnel had changed before you even went down it.  You weren't getting back to town that easily.

And the players who are absent can feel free to post publicly or privately until they are seen.  Again, they should be here next update . . .

"Well. I say we stick together in this area before venturing out. Introductions are in order I suppose: My name is Alyssa Alpine,
and I am a hunter and was a hired blade. You three are?
"

Look around for monsters. Especially examine the ceiling and walls around us. Accept the blade from John.

I believe Dustan's wheelbarrow has the spare sling (and he has the other one in his backpack), and in any case I think you'd be better off pitching them by hand.  Either way, there is a small chance they'll be extinguished in the effort.

I have received private messages from hidden characters, will resolve their actions, and will bring (a subset of) them along next update.  Now I just need word from Durenadal (HugeNerdAndProudOfIt) and Overseer (FallacyofUrist).
