Marlobos is not one to tally, they run as fast as they can, gear wiggling around with their hopping steps, finally, something interesting!

You ran along with the rest of the teams herded through the compound until you finally arrive at the largest building in the compound, it holds the biggest, baddest portal you've ever seen in your life. It's intimidating to say the least.. you didn't have a lot of time to admire it however as you and the others were ushered through.

The moment you pass it, your ears are greeted with thunderous crackles of firearms, reports of ballistic weapons discharging in every direction.

It seems that the immediate area around the gate have been surrounded, people have put up sand bags and various other broken items to use as cover.

It is all very confusing at what's going on, "Get into cover!" shouted the human that have been herding you, the one with glorious hat and trench coat. One of the auxiliary human pushed you some to make way before he was struck in the stomach where your head had been and crumple onto the floor, whimpering.

"Where are the shots coming from?!"

Marlobos scoops a few rocks into his boomstick loading the cone up for firing.

"If fresh food just showed up on my doorstep I'd probably be celebrating too."

"You're making assumptions. I've shown up uninvited to people's houses and found them celebrating. Although this will likely be a lot harder if it comes to violence. Assume nothing."

"Looks like they haven't noticed yet. I say we hurl the white phosphorus inside a window or something, light the whole place up, and gauss anything that's still moving. Preemptive strike. Cause they're gonna attack anyway."

"Negotiations first. Or do you want to tell Akras that you cost them potential recruits because you got too kill happy?"

"There! the platforms!" Shouted one of the humans in cover, pointing at a loading platform a small distance away where gunfire are coming from.

You vaguely realize as you take cover that the table you're hiding behind is bleeding.

Huh, strange.

Blast the table, if anyone else is using it, shout for them to move as well.

Mako chewed her lips as she fiddled with the translator. Not that it'd speed anything up, but being the only Terran left on the team means- oh right, Dahn. Well, the man could be Gaian for all she cared. He just had to lose a little height and be racist against robots and Earth instead.

"Their only guy that we took down was a lumbering freak of nature of fingers that begged to be shot in the face anyways, and these are people, right? People with some magical nonsense and mental illnesses up the wazoo, but still people. Even if Akras wanted us to raze their manor down and skullfuck their pets, I'd rather we tried negotiating first."

"Moreso in that case. I've noticed those higher up the Akras ranks tend to be more like me so it makes sense they'd want them."
