Okay how about this: 20 Gold per Worker, we don't care about the Security Rating. You pay more per worker but you don't have to invest in Security.

As for Guilds, they all start with 5 Qual 1 workers.

The Golden Hands prefer working in a safe environment (of at least 3+ SR); in turn, they provide skilled and quality labor--even if their labor may be of less quality, their prices are adjusted accordingly. By Guild motto and reputation, the Golden Hands ensure that they are all of skilled and professional etiquette and would like the same from their contractor.

The Golden Hands advertise their five, tier 2 quality workers, at 22g each. The 'steep' price is to ensure a trusted SR from first-hand impression. Totaling at around 110g in all, this starting offer is only at a 10% profit margin!

It was added to clarify the bidding rules after there was some confusion, but that was the intended mechanic when I wrote the bidding rules.

The picture seems to be working for me, is it bugged for anyone else? It's just fluff though so you're not missing crucial information or anything.

As for phases, each phase is per player really. You automatically enter the bidding phase one you bid on anything.

Your thoughts about hiring are true. All information is updated at the beginning of the turn for that very reason.

I might extend this turn to 6 days if some people aren't finished by then mostly because everyone is new and nobody knows what they're doing :P.

I might extend this turn to 6 days if some people aren't finished by then mostly because everyone is new and nobody knows what they're doing :P.
Woo, so we can only post our 100g/200g thing and totally go marketing advertising on our relative assuaging measurements of skill and safety requirements! :D

The National Union of Miners has available 5 Tier 1 and 4 Tier 2 Miners, the equal of 13 Tier 1s. Hiring said 13 Tier 1s would cost 156 gold at the going rate of 12g / worker, but the NUM's entire party will be available, for one time only, for 125 gold! Go on, make the most of that Fat Wallets specialisation! Be the envy of every Baron around! Total Hiring cost increases by 6g for every point of SR below 5. Lying about your SR will likely provoke a strike or a visit from the Union's lawyers. Do so at your own risk.

That would cost me 120 gold which is more than I have which prevents the deal from being sealed. How about reducing that to 7?

Also how ...or when do you know a mine's SR or guild's quality?

I don't see why you couldn't. Jeering at your competitors is a staple of good business.

You don't really ever get directly told the SR of mines or the quality of workers, but you can infer it. If a mine continously gets subpar production it might be low quality workers. If a mine is accident prone it might be low SR. The only exception I can think of is natural disasters, which give a pretty dead giveaway of the mine's SR.

@manored: You have an overdraft of 100g, and you'll immediately be making money back from the sale of coal. If I understand the rules correctly as well, you'll be paid for coal before you pay me for workers as well.

Fair point. 12 gold per head, five workers. SR 5.
We would be willing to hire out at 12g per worker, if you're willing to hire 8 workers. Even if you go into a small amount of debt, I don't believe interest accumulates until the end of the turn anyway, and you'll more than make money back on coal.

Also you forgot your info page.

Speaking of which, Vivalas, could we at least get an idea of what's too low for food and what's too high for coal? Like, what they'll just refuse to buy or sell at? Or is it going to be experimental to determine that?
