Hell, we had one dude in SC that had an estimated 10,000 guns in his *personal* arsenal. Enough to fill four 40-foot trailers. Guess it was like "Hoarders" meets "Duck Dynasty".

In the news, Trump has chosen Indiana governor Mike Pence as his running mate. Pence and Trump don't exactly see eye to eye on a lot of issues, but it looks like an attempt to increase his appeal to the religious right part of the Republican base, who haven't been too pleased with him so far and may not have turned out in the numbers he needs otherwise.

I think the point being made was that it's all very well to say " we have more guns than there are soldiers in the world", but any modernised army would make mincemeat of them and their owners if they tried to be an army. Stick to rambling about the government wanting your AR-15 and mowing down wood at the range.

We also have more veterans than the rest of the world.  Your argument doesn't even make sense, an untrained person with a rifle is every bit as deadly to opposing forces, regardless of the equipment those forces field, they just don't make good soldiers.  What makes a good soldier is the capacity to act as part of an organized force with unified goals, not their ability to shoot straight.

Edit: If you recall Vietnam, a highly organized military fought a bunch of farmers with inadequate equipment and got their asses handed to them through extensive use of ambush tactics.  You don't have to be a professional to be effective.
