Well, at least your trip home will be easy and simple to arrange."

"No threat of violence, simply a clause permitting me to protect myself and my team from attacks, including non-violent ones like a satyr's song. Are you saying that in order for us to proceed, I need to be personally responsible for the actions of the other Omegas here, including when they are beyond my influence?"

[Ozarck]

"Child, you appear to fear that every word has a hidden meaning, and that I am waiting to catch you in a verbal snare, to entrap you into servitude or worse, as if the wording of my request was more than merely an amusing reflection of the behavior your team exhibited in the brief time it has been here. If you wish to reserve the right to protect yourself, say it such. But perhaps it can wait until after introductions are made?"

[Lenglon]

"You may call me Aylia, him Fiddler, her Ebony, and this the Eye. Am I wrong to take great caution in speaking with one that immediately spoke of contracts? The mortal way is to act without contract or formal obligation, and the contracts of the fey are precise and binding. None of us here have the experience needed to navigate contracts well, so it is wise for us to fear them and do our best to avoid them entirely."

Fiddler leans in toward the others.

"You think we can just wander off, maybe? I feel like they're gonna be at it for a while."

[Ozarck]

"I believe you have said you cannot speak for the others, Aylia. It would be uncouth of me to address the others by a name granted without their permission. And to answer a question: we require a team, capable of acting together and, at the very least, having a leader who can be confident that they will not actually attack an ally unprovoked when out of sight of that leader. Is that not wise on our part?

Fiddler leans in toward the others.

Dannelle looks toward you. "Greetings, munchkin. I am your liaison. You may call me Dannelle. I wouldn't recommend wandering far. Strays around here could get picked up by the most unpleasant of people."

[Lenglon]

"On the last mission I was on, near the end, I let my team's most trustworthy, reliable, direct and honest teammate out of my sight while he escorted the person we were there to help. He murdered him in cold blood, catastrophically failing the mission, and I still don't know why. He refused to tell me. That happened just yesterday, I was promoted to a low-level leadership position in the aftermath, and had to assemble a team from a selection of people in a few hours, having only first impressions and their dossiers to evaluate them, and the only one I had been on a mission with is now following a satyr's song, having completely lost himself. I understand why you want me to be confident in my team's restraint, but I just can't do that right now."

[TheBiggerFish]

"A test then. exactly one thousand, two hundred and seveny two paces west of here, you will find an open field on a northward facing slope. In the center of the field will be an unhappy being. Aid that being successfully, and we will talk again. This will take all of you, even the teammate you refused to identify ... the one in the tree?"

"Now that's the kind of talk I like to hear. Are we off or what?"

If we're off to conduct our part in what is no doubt a most horrific play on a well-known love story trope, let's be off!

"Welp, we all heard her. Lets go everyone. Eye, do you mind getting a early look from above so we can see what we're walking into?"
Go, it's time to help someone out.

Once they're out of earshot, Ebony shows Aylia her notebook. "I transcribed everything that was said, in case we need to refer back to it later."
